DGEmu is an acronym for Dragons Generation Emulation - the emulation site of the Dragons Generation network established by Dragons Master.

What are DPs / Download Points?

Downloads Points (DPs) are points you use to download roms with. DPs cannot be converted to GPs.

What are GPs?

GPs or Gold Pieces are points your earn by posting in the forums. GPs can be converted to DPs using the GPs to DPs Converter

How many GPs do I get when I post in the forums?

You get 6 GPs for each post, 10 GPs for each topic and 10 GPs for each poll. However, there is an exception: You get NO GPs at all when you post in the Hello & Goodbye, Praise the Dragon, Spam, and any of the Visual Art forums.

Will I have to pay money to download these ROMs?

No, our ROMs are free for downloading, you only have to pay DPs to download a ROM(DPs are automatically deducted whenever you click the Download button).
If you wish to do so, you may donate money to DGEmu in exchange for more DPs to download more ROMs.
If you wish to donate, thank you very much for your kind contribution, for more information please visit the Donate Page
Please note that all donations are strictly voluntary and optional.

Please refer to our Warn FAQ.

Why are there different kinds of DPs?

Each type except for the Global DPs is used to download certain roms:
- Global DPs: Those are used for any kind of ROM. However, they reset to 12.5 each day.
- NCDPs: Those are used for NES, SNES and N64 ROMs only.
- NDS/GBx DPs: Those are used for GBA, GBC, Gameboy and NDS ROMs only.
- Atari DPs: Those are used for Atari Jaguar/Lynx/2600 ROMs only
- Retro DPs: Those are used for Sam Coupe, MAME, TurboGrafx-16, Neo Geo Pocket and Wonderswan ROMs only.
- Sega DPs: Those are used for SMS, Genesis and Gamegear ROMs only.

How do I get more DPs?

At the moment there are 2 ways. One is by using the GPs to DPs converter and the other way is by donating.
Do not worry if you do not seem to have many DPs, as your global DPs will reset everyday to 12.5, ensuring that you will always be able to download some roms.

Exactly how many DPs do I get by donating?

Please refer to the DPs and Donating post.

How do I convert one type of DPs into another?

You can only do so if you are a Donator.
For Donators, you can convert one type of DPs into another using the DPs to DPs Converter in the Donators' Center: http://www.dgemu.com/D_Center.html

Can I donate in another person's name?

Sure, you can customize your donation in any way you want through arrangement with our Webmaster. Please contact him by emailing webmaster(AT)dgemu(DOT)com

Can I donate ROMs to DGEmu?

Unfortunately, DGEmu does not accept any donations or contributions in the form of ROMs, whether DGEmu has the ROMs or not.
Please do not offer us ROMs, especially in exhange for DPs, as we will be unable to accept them.

I waited for a few days, and my DPs didn't go above 12.5!/I had 20 Global DPs yesterday, but I only have 12.5 today! What's happening?

You do not earn any dps per day. Global dps reset to 12.5 everyday at around 12AM GMT+2, they do not build up.

My Global DPs didn't reset today! Why?

It may take some time for the Global DPs to reset, but do not worry, as they do reset everyday, so please just wait for them to reset.

I have converted XX GPs into DPs, but they aren't showing on my Download page: it keeps saying I'm too poor to download a ROM; what should I do?

Most likely, your browser is showing you cached content. Reload(Ctrl+R for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox) the page and you should be able to see the correct value.

ROMs are too expensive! Can't they get cheaper?

1DP = 1MB. Therefore, the cost is proportional to our bandwhich usage, therefore it will not be lowered.

I can't download a rom at all/Downloading a rom takes far too long! Can you help?

This is due to your connection speed, thus we cannot help you. Please upgrade your connection (broadband is recommended) or come when there are less people on DGEmu.
Also, please update your browser to the latest version, or change it entirely(we recommend Mozilla Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/
Updating Internet Explorer: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx
Updating Mozilla Firefox(also the Add-ons page): https://addons.mozilla.org/?application=firefox
Updating Operahttp://www.opera.com/download/
Updating Netscape: http://browser.netscape.com/

I downloaded a ROM, but the .zip file was corrupted/empty/did not contain any ROM files/I didn't even get a .zip file! What should I do?

When you download a ROM, please do not select 'Open' when the File Download window pops up.
Better still, the next time you download a ROM, do not click the 'Download' or 'Click Here to Download' button, instead, right-click it and select 'Save Target As'.
Also, do not use download managers, download accelerators, or anything that pauses/resumes downloads or alters the speed of downloading, as that will cause your download to become very messed up.

I downloaded a ROM and it's not working. Can I get a refund?

No. We only refund members who have been experiencing problems with downloaded ROMs when there are problems with the site that we are aware of.
The Global DPs were created for this specific purpose. If a ROM is not working, try redownloading it when your Global DPs reset.
Please do not request for a DPs refund under any circumstances.

I tried to download a game only to find out I don't have enough DP's. I could have sworn I had more than enough. What's the deal?

DP's are used prior to download. If you clicked the download button and cancel for whatever reason, your DP's have been used even though you didn't start the download at all.
Also, if you double clicked the download button, your DP's have been used twice instead of once. Just be patient and everything will work properly.

I have donated to the site, but can't access Donator Center/didn't get the DPs I paid for. What is going on?

Please wait for your donation to be processed, it usually takes less than 24 hours from the time of your donation.
However, if it has been more than 24 hours since your donation, and this problem still persists, please contact Dragons Master at webmaster(AT)dgemu(DOT)com directly, since he is the only person who can help you on that issue.
Please keep in mind that he may be very busy, so it might take a little time before he replies to your message.

I donated to the site not long ago, and got some dps, but they're gone now! Where have they been to?!

Please refer to http://www.dgemu.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=95800

Can I delete my acccount?

No, you can't delete your own member account.
Also, please do not request for your account to be deleted under any circumstances, as DGEmu does not delete member accounts in any case.
If you wish to leave DGEmu, please just leave your account as it is.

I cannot login/I get logged out soon after logging in each time! What's happened?

Please clear your cache, enable all cookies by DGEmu, and try again.

There are about 2 possibilities:
1) Your account has been banned. This will only happen if you have made more than one account on DGEmu, or if you have broken the Forum Rules too oftenly in the forums.
2) You cannot remember your username correctly.
If so, pls contact us using the 'Contact Us' link on the menu to your left, stating your problem, and giving us your email address that you used to register your account with, and we'll be able to help you.

The Classic NES ROMs don't work! What should I do to fix them?

Nothing, as, unfortunately, they aren't supposed to work.

If they aren't supposed to work, then why are they on DGEmu?

For Nintendo DS emulators, please refer to http://www.dgemu.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=68847

Nintendo DS emulation is still in its infancy, so many Nintendo DS ROMs do not work at all with any emulator, and some which work do not work well.

When I went into DGEmu, there was spyware/trojans/viruses? Why?

DGEmu does not put spyware/trojans/viruses etc.("malware") at all. This question has been added just-in-case you do detect malware on DGEmu, as, currently, there is no malware on DGEmu.
If there is malware, it is due to the advertisements on DGEmu. If so, please do not hesitate to inform us via email to support(AT)dgemu(DOT)com Almost all ads have been removed, so this should not be an issue anymore.

How do you contribute user reviews of a ROM?

Search for the ROM you want to do a review on using the Search function: http://www.dgemu.com/Search.html
Click on the title of the ROM.
Then, click on the 'Reviews' button.
There will be a link for you to submit your review.

Will I really get 10 DPs if I make a good review?

Yes, if you submit a good review, a Reviews Inspector will decide whether your review is good enough for you to be rewarded with 10 DPs.
If the answer is 'Yes', you will get the DPs, so do keep submitting good reviews to earn more DPs.
If it is, you will get the DPs, so do keep submitting good reviews to earn more DPs.

How will I know if my review is approved or not/My review was approved, but I did not get any DPs, why?

Note that not all approved reviews will earn you 10 DPs.
Only those which are of a highly professional standards will earn the reviewer the 10 DPs.

Also, note that you will not be informed on whether your review has been approved or not, or whether it has earned you 10 DPs or not.

Thus the only way to know whether your review has been approved or not is to check and see if your review is there.
If your review is not on DGEmu 24 hours after you submitted your review, then your review has probably been declined.

Similarly, the only way to find out whether you have received any DPs from your reviews is to check your DPs.

Also, if you spam/plagarise, 10 DPs will be deducted from you, so remember to send only original reviews.

I have a website, and I wish to exhange links with DGEmu in order to increase visits to both websites. May I?

Unfortunately, we do not conduct such 'affilation'(as the exchanging of links between two websites is commonly known as), as we are already satisfied with the amount of traffic we get.
