i used to use them as a way to save before i realised that emulators were actually capable of saving your progress like the proper version.

I use it a lot, since my main emulator is on my phone. ill just save if i have to go.

Too often, especially when I played the game Beyblade. I saved after passing every obstacle.

When ever there is a forked path I can take, I save and see what happens when I do both. I also save when I just finished something difficult.

I use save states all the time some things just cannot be messed up. Otherwise I try to avoid using them i defeats the purpose of the game

I pretty much only save state. I dont use ingame saves too much. Its a lot easier because you can save wherever, whenever

I try to avoid savestates if I can. It seems like once you use one once, you can't help but use them constantly. Makes you too paranoid. I don't really trust most Emus' memory features anyway.

When I play Yu-Gi-Oh! Games I usually save after every fight so that I wore to lose to the next guy I could keep my perfect winning streak by just loading the game again.

well , i dont really like to use savestates only if i need too like if the game was freakishly hard or im in the middle of a battle or something a i need to save

I use it so much. Testing out different routes on pokemon. Holding a place right before bosses so I could come back and have fun on Zelda Oracle of Ages. It's also good for long battles where each stage needs different tactics and you need something to fall back on in case you screw up.

In Final Fantasy Tactics Advance it's really useful for meI always save states when I began attack, so if i'm miss my target, i can repeat it over and over again

I use save states everytime I'm about to fight a boss like the guy above me said. But I also use it whenever I can access a new area, an example would be a city in Pokemon.

I use the VisualBoy Advance; and well, i pass the new games i download always without use any state; but you know guys, when i start to think on those new features or cheats what appears when you have a perfect game, i become crazy and start to unlock all secrets!; hahaha!, for example, those special weapons and ciber elves for Megaman Zero games, or like when i want to catch a pokémon on pokémon emerald without using gameshark codes...
