I prefer gameplay, but if the graphics are bad, then it might ruin the game for me. I didn't play the first breath of fire game for more than a half hour at a time because the main character is so freaking ugly.

theres a difference between graphics done well, and highly technical/advanced graphics. On the SNES, there are many games with GREAT graphics, ones that, especially considering the machines limitations, are astounding.

Woah, theres actually people here who think like me. In my opinion too, game can have low-quality graphics, but it still might look like goddamn beautiful and cool. Anyway graphics are very important for me when choosing a game. id say 50/50 for gameplay and graphics

Gameplay matters the most, but you need a little bit of good graphics. Games that have graphics that annoys you or lame animations but great gameplay will sit in the corner gathering dust than ones with good graphics and good gameplay.

i play for gameplay 90% and the other 10% being graphics, because i don't want the graphics to be as bad as E.T. for the Atari, man that looked horrific.

Gameplay of course, but there has to be some level of standard as to how "bad" a game should look nowadays.

Graphics are okay, but gameplay's the kicker. If the gameplay is superb and the graphics are great, that's a win.

Its kinda a broken argumentsIn today's world of gaming games aren't really considered very much if they don't have great graphics.Thats not to say they lack in gameplay. To me gameplay comes first, but great graphics is a means to enhance great gameplay

Graphics are the things you need least in games.Gameplay is the most important. If the game sucks, no good Graphic will help. That's why I think every single SNES game is much better than the whole PS3 games.Simple example: Sonic adventure 2 for Dreamcast or Snoic next gen for Xbox360/Ps3Who is the clear winner? Sonic adventure 2 of course. Many say the graphics suck, but Story and Gameplay just own. While in Sonic next gen it's just the other way round.

i value story over anything else but if i had to choose...then gameplay. a game can look like crud, but as long as its worth playing. harvest moon on the gba wasn't exactly stunning looking, but man was that addictive. then again, it had little juicy story tidbits to go along with that as well.

Graphics isnt really important to me...as long as the game is fun.Earthbound for example...it had pretty lame graphics compared to chrono trigger and final fantasy BUT i really liked the game because of the gameplay

Gameplay is of course the most important thing in a game. For most games I don't care much about the graphics, but I think a few kinds of games are a bit better with better graphics, for example, I enjoy F-Zero GX (NGC) more than F-Zero X (N64). But that's mainly because it's such a fast paced game that looks Awesome with good graphics. If I could find completely translated versions for all the Fire Emblems though, I'd play them all through, including the NES ones even though they look like... well like NES games...

If the graphics are dull and make the gameplay dull then I don't get the game.

Gameplay. Graphics can be sucky, but as long as the gameplay matches great features to the graphics then I'm set!

I think gameplay aand graphics should be balanced becuz would you play a boring game becuz it has pretty shiny colors for example if a bus driving simulator had the best graphics in the world would you play it?
