I'd have to go with gameplay because of if you hate the game when playing it yet there are good graphics, you would just want to stop playing it cuz its not interesting.

To choose between the two, it would be gameplay.
I've played classic DOS games before, there's this strategy game with really poor graphics but the gameplay is good and you can venture the game in a hundred ways.

Of course in this time, games have both graphics and gameplay.

Both, and a great plot.

I really want the gameplay, which is part of why I still play the old MegaMan Zero games on GBA. When it comes to art, what matters to me is not that it's super high resolution, but whether it fits the game or not. Plot, from my point of view, is disposable after the first playthrough. That's what cutscene skips are for, right?

No graphics???Then it isn't a graphical game then? I mean I'm pretty sure that all xBox games are something like you use a controller and in response, you get a visual feedback on the screen? It might be an audio-based game then? Very interesting, I didn't know there was such game like that that had no graphics at all.Well, I suppose there are some great games that are not visual.

This is correct, they are games out there that have no graphics at all. The only one I have played was Colossal Cave Adventure. It is actually all text based, so you really have to use your imagination to navigate this cave. I could only get to one room since I tried entering the cave multiple times. I eventually got tired of it and just turned it off.

Game play! I would rather play a fun ugly game, than a pretty but boring game any day.

Good graphics are certainly nice, but gameplay is definitely more important. A game with great graphics but terrible gameplay is a terrible game; some of the best games ever (Super Mario, Sonic etc.) didn't have amazing graphics

The most important factor in a game for me is whether or not I get emotionally attached to the game. I couldn't care less about the graphics of the game. There are plenty of old school games that I will forever be in love with because of the story of the game and how I feel while I play the game.

Graphics can affect the overall gameplay but it won't make or break the game so Gameplay is a lot more important cuz the graphics could suck but u can at least still enjoy the game. If the game had nice graphics but horrible game play then you just bought yourself a nice movie with nothing to do but just watch the scenery

Definitely gameplay, i mean good graphics are great, but if a game has good graphics and no storyline i can't stand it. Controls a a big factor to, i dont like button mashers or games with controls so complex that you forget them if you havent played for a few days

I grew up in the 80s. I have no problem playing a game with "subpar" graphics. Graphics don't mean a damn thing if the game is no fun to play.

That´s exactly the huge problem we are facing actually, developers are focusing so much in graphics that the forget about the gameplay. My opinion is that the best videgames (intelectualy) where made 10 or 20 years ago when graphics and tools where really limited and that forced developers to be really creative and smart in the gameplay.
