I'll have to say i'd like passable graphics and AMAZING gameplay. Sadly, it seems to be the other way around most games these days.

While I do agree that gameplay is more important, I've been spoiled lately by all the beautiful games and now I can't bring myself to play Final Fantasy IV :'(

the most important thing i would rather have would be gameplay because it molds the game the game into boring or fantastic.

Gameplay is more important to me than graphics of course. I prefer graphics to be good too but gameplay is the most important factor of a game.

Gameplay has my vote. Why? well like everyone else examples I perfer to play a well built game that allows me to have fun then playing a pretty looking game that I just want to break. Gameplay is allways important in the game, graphics I wouldn't give a rat's donkey.

gameplay matters more, if the game has really good graphics but bad gameplay, who would play it? I still play final fantasy the first ones. the graphics are bad, but i love the gameplay.

gameplay. if a game has the best graphics ever, but the gameplay sucks then I'm not going to play it b/c it would frustrate me.

if i even need to explain that kind of ? in a place like this, then im in the wrong place. and if you answer graphics, i would ask "how old are you". not that graphics aren't important, i just hope as a gamer that we are all past "eye candy".

gameplay. If you don't have an appealing story I dont' care how pretty it is.However, I also can't stand to play a game regardless of how great the story is if I can't stand the graphics.

Hehe, looking at the votes, it's what I expected....I figure those who download ROMs tend to get a lot of the older games, like NES/SNES things like that. And those graphics are pretty crap. Yet we still go back and play them 
It's all about the gameplay; graphics are always gonna get better and better, but its gameplay that makes the game memorable.

Gameplay for sure. Graphics are nice but if the gameplay is poor then I won't play it.Unless I can easily collect stuff in it. I'm a sucker for those sorts of games.
