both actually....games would not be popular and fun without a great gameplayand games would not sell if not for graphics...final fantasy tactics for PS1 has a MAD gameplay but crap graphicsand yet it didnt become as famous as the other games...demon stone isnt really much popular either, their gameplay iskinda basic but its graphics is greatbut to my opinion, gameplay is the more important aspect...hey i stil play yu-gi-oh =D

Gameplay, look at FF7. Graphics are meh but it is still one of (if not)the best game(s) ever.

I'm going to have to go with gameplay. But I don't like this poll. This sounds like the kind of poll a nintendo fanboy would post. A system with increased horsepower does not only mean increased graphics.

The guys who say gameplay over graphics are hypocrites. No game would sell without good eyecandy. Would you buy a game without good graphics? I mean you go into a store. You look at 2 games one looks awsome, the other has beter gameplay. Which attracts more attention? Look at the evolution of consoles. What is the differnce btwn Psone and Ps3? NOT the game play, BUT the pure degree of difference in GRAPHICS.

i wish everyone knew that because alot of people FREAK OUT over graphicsgraphics means nothing if the gameplay is crap!!!!!!!
you are an offical idiot because when websites rate the top 100 games i see games with retro graphics in the top 20s but games with very good graphics don't even come up.If you don't believe me check IGN.I prefer graphics. If the graphics is bad, then i won't enjoy the game!

i dont think it wise to put any faith in the reviews of websites, magazines, etc... the only way i can judge if a game is good or not is if i play it myself.as far as gameplay vs graphics, eyah gameplay is definately the deciding factor. why was super mario 3 the best selling game of all time for so long? not cuz of its graphics, ill tell you that.you are an offical idiot because when websites rate the top 100 games i see games with retro graphics in the top 20s but games with very good graphics don't even come up.If you don't believe me check IGN.

graphics enhance a games's attractiveness, i'll give it that.unfortunatly nowadays there so many games with breathtaking graphics but horrible plots/gameplay.50 Cent:Bulletproof was 1 very good example.so...i'll choose gameplay.

I would say graphics.I is not important if you have a good game, but your graphiccard is very bad. You also need a graphiccard.The gameplay is also important, so it was difficult to tick one of them.But you need both graphiccard and a good game, to enjoy it.

Good gameplay easily. Though, if it doesn't have a good story, I can't get into alot of games, even with great gameplay.

NINTENDO is so smart in making the Wii. See the gamecube may have had worse graphics than the XBOX and the PS2, just like the Wii will compared to the 360 and PS3, but the main difference between how the gamecube fared and how the Wii is gonna compete with SONY and Microsoft will be gameplay, the Wii has the most advanced gameplay compared to the 360 and ps3. its gonna be less than 300 bucks also so it makes it superior in many ways.
