I've nothing against the Cel-Shaded Link, though I preferred the Adult, Realistic Link. That's why I was so delighted with Nintendo's new trailer of the new Zelda.

Thats true I prefer the new Gamecube Link over the Cel-shade Link.

I love cel-shading on RPGs. I recently played Tales of Symphonia and it really matches the anime cutscenes that go with it. Wind Waker's great too. Other cel-shaded games I really love are XIII and Dark Cloud 2.

Well, usually cel-shaded games take up less processing power, allowing for more content. But it still depends... Imagine Splinter Cell was cel-shaded. There goes the atmosphere, the only enjoyable aspect in the game.Cel-shading works best for platformers... Although some of them do better without it. Like Conker: Live and Reloaded.... Individual hair rendering+shading? It's insane.

Like some other people said cell shading only works for certin games. Tales of Symponia for example. Cell Shadeing worked for that becuse the game is so anime like.

I like cell shaded graphics but not in everything. A good example of cell shaded is Jet Set Radio future. It's cell shaded but it still has lots of details. In Zelda it just made the game lose all details, just look at the environments they look nice but they don't seem to have lots of details. Anyway I don't think Zelda should be cell shaded, give me adult Link and voice acting and a good story and I will be Nintendo's greatest supporter (again :-) )

i practically bought the gc just because i wanted a zelda game that was like OoT except with improved graphics, longer game, etc. so although wind waker was a great game, it was a bit of a disappointment because what i really wanted was what they're making now. a more mature, lifelike legend of zelda.

To be honest at first I didn't like the whole cel shading idea but once I played through WW a little bit I liked it. Cel shading gives a more imaginative feel. Plus it does portray comedy pretty well and adds so much color and detail.

The cel shading thing is pretty good, but sometimes I get real sick of it and I don't know why.

Cel shading was interesting. It only worked for me on Windwaker though.

I love it. Very nice concept. I personally love the cel-shaded Link. Also, Killer 7 was spectacular. I just adored the style of that game. Looking forward to more of these types.

The cell shading was really good and all but I prefer a more realistic look but all in all the windwaker was a really good game.

Cel-shading is good when it's done right- I /think/ Tales of Symphonia was at least partially cel-shaded (it's been a while since I've played it, so I can't really remember), and they pulled it off really well. Other than that... well, 2D really needs more respect. XD

I think that it works well for certain games. It worked really well for Wind Waker, though many were appalled by it for some reason. I thought it looked really nice and it made the game have an original feel to it. :( :) :rofl2:
