Depends - fighting games are addictive if you've got enough people to play against, or they have online play. RPGs are more addictive if you've got the time to play em - I know I haven't anymore

Fighting games are fun while rpg's resemble great stories

when you have a ''rival'' (like me) and you both like fighting and rpgs I think both would be addictive: you always want to be better than the rest!

Like a good book, I find that good RPGs keep me addicted longer. Then again, I did play Tekken 3 almost everyday for a few months.

Rpgs are more addicting for me. I usually play through a rog twice and then try to perfect it. So that squeezes in at a good 90-120 hours of gameplay.Fighting games I bring up every once in a while. I might squeeze in 60 hours at max. So I play Rpgs more more. But once I'm finished I usually don't play them again. there are few exceptions like Vagrant Story where I have pressured my highest amount of time. 400+ hours currently. Fighting games are played every now and again and sure I wouldn't mind playing some matches now of any fighting game.

RPGs are sad, I like them, and they're addictive. That's the reason why I don't like them so much. You could be outside on a picnic, but you play and play an RPG for 100+ hours. A month goes by you've gotten 1 kg more of weight. So RPGs are good with stories, but the music becomes repetitive, the stories are quite easy to know what happens next if your intelligent enough to notice it. FFX, Tidus fight monsters after Monsters... I got sick of Mt. Gagazet. FFIV I stopped playing because it was boring, same happend to FFV, FFVI. The only RPG I've ever finished is some nice and short one. Something that you can finish in 12 hours. The only long RPG I've finished is FFIX. The strategy in RPGs is fake, just click attack time after time. Isn't that making your brain a vegetable? Not eating? Whoa, that's bad!Now about the fighting games, less addictive, double the fun! SFII, I don't get sick of that Ryu theme ever. Reflex and attack, makes your brain much more active than RPG. I've seen people play and RPG, I fall asleep. I see people play a fighting game I'm interested. So, RPGs are more addictive, but not better.Addictive doesn't mean better! :P

Naturally RPGs because they make you think more and have better storyline.

Working on Knights in the Nightmare. Going to get around to Rondo of Swords. Hoping to find inspiration for Etrian.

Definitely RPG. I mean just look at World of Warcraft, no fighting games can compare to it.

These are two very different types of games. I think fighting games are meant to give a quick burst of excitement while RPG'S are meant to go on for a long time. Therefore the RPG will seem more addictive because you have to play it more to uncover the story.

Both types of games are addictive, but in the end it really depends on the game... I mean you can't really compare a game like WoW with Tekken 2, just like you cant compare Tekken 5 (Dark Ressurection) with Diablo.

I get hooked onto an RPG game a lot quicker than a fighting game. I play Ragnarok Online almost everyday, and whether my friends are online or not, I still have fun. With fighting games, it's a lot more fun to play with a bunch of friends for a videogame party. If I'm by myself with a fighting game, I get bored too easily.

Both games have their own merits, and it depends on what the player wants. Overall I think RPGs are more addictive because of the storyline and length, whereas fighting games are better played for a short time and with friends.

I prefer RPG, because their are long games, and fighting games, you just pick a character and beat the crap out any other you want, thats cool.NYO

Rpg are just as good as fighting games. I love fighting games too but there is so much more available in rpgs. If i do play fighting games i beat it with ever character, murk on a few of my friends unlock all the stuff then i just stop after that unless i'm up against friends. Rpgs have tons of of storyline(in some cases) and i just love turn baseds and real time rpgs so i'd play almost any of them. still i love games of if the game is any good i'll play it and i mean of any kind except sports i got kind of bored after madden 06. Ops off topic any ways. Both genres have incredible special moves, diverse characters and storyline rpgs just have more and in most cases are far more indept. Rpgs are far more time consuming and have hours of game play while after you finish everything on a fighting came unless you're a hardcore fan you only play it when friends are around...well not including DBZ there fighting games a way cool and have so much to offer. it's like a fighting rpg to me.

It really depends on the game to me. With some fighting games, I usually just stick to it until I unlock everything and wait to play it again against a friend of mine whenever they're available to hang out with. When it comes to RPGs, it depends on what type of things there are to unlock, replayability factors to see if it's worth playing all over again in a new game+, the story, etc. Some fighting games I never get sick of. Capcom vs. SNK 2 and Tekken 5 are two of them. I just enjoy the games' mechanics so much that I can't get enough of it. With RPGs like Disgaea or Phantom Brave, I'll just continue abusing the system to powerlevel so I can beat the extra bosses in the games. It just varies for me.
