I guess it wasn't good enough for it's own thread, sorry dudes.
~OBJECTION~For those... of you not "in the know", Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, also known as "Gyakuten Saiban" in Japan, is a DS text-based-with-illustrations adventure. You play as Phoenix Wright, an unsure "newb" attorney. The goal... of the game is to make the wright decisions during each of the 5 cases in the game, solving clues, pointing out errors and untruths in the witnesses testimonies, and other sorts of lawyerly duties. Here is some sexy boxart:
In Japan... there are three(3) Phoenix Wright games for the Gameboy Advance, known as Gyakuten Saiban 1, 2, and 3. A fourth one is currently in development for the DS, which stars a NEW lawyer, not Phoenix Wright.Currently... the second Gyakuten Saiban game in Japan is being ported to the DS for release in America. There are no plans, as of now, for future ports of any other Gyakuten Saiban games.A soundtrack... using orchestrations of several songs in the games is being released sometime in late September, and will be around $30. Samples can be found here.*clicky*Here's some more sexy boxart, for the soundtrack:
The sad thing... is that Capcom did a piss-poor job of publishing Ace Attorney. After being released in America on October 11, 2005, it went through a reprint in March 2006, June 2006, and finally last month, August 2006. For those of you who have been unable to get a hold of the game in the past year, now is a good time.
Feel free to use this thread as discussion for the series in general. To end this post, I'll post some random Phoenix Wright trivia I shamlessly copied & pasted from Wikipedia:
And the best thing about the GBA versions of Phoenix Wright... they are already translated into English. It's just a matter of navigating the menus to find the "English" option, which I have yet to do.Currently, Phoenix Wright: Justice For All, is slated for a Q1 2007 release date. Tell your friends. B)
- It has been suggested that the character Gregory Edgeworth is based on Gregory Peck's performance of district attorney Atticus Finch in the film adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird.
- During the fifth case, after Angel Starr's testimony regarding the victim's shoe, if you present the right evidence, Phoenix will say "The shoe doesn't fit!". This is a reference to the O.J. Simpson murder trial, in which a glove found at the crime scene did not fit on O.J. Simpson's hand.
- The Gatewater hotel may be a reference to the Watergate hotel, where a series of burglaries took place. These events lead to national scandal, which ended with President Richard Nixon's resignation.
