Hellsing and Elfen Lied are both equally short, having only 13 episodes to their names, with one OAV per series. These are the shortest I've seen. However, with the second series of Hellsing arriving shortly, this will no longer be the case.

I just finished watching subbed ep. 4 of Tales of Phantasia...they took the entire ToP game and stuck it into four 25 minute episodes, cutting out 90% of the plot...but anyways, its the shortest series I've ever seen.

^||Not anime...more like a disgrace to anime.Today I saw the Chrono Trigger comedy short...1 episode, 15 mins. It was rather funny though.

that would have to be Peach Girl. Each episode was around 20 or so minutes and there were 25 episodes-but they were all REALLY good!

The shortest anime I've watched was Golden Boy, 6 episodes. I think there were more following the original but I do not know of them.

For me I felt it was Midori no Hibi because there was such a good long enough story in the manga and in the anime was so rushed and undeveloped in some parts. And also Miyuki-chan in Wonderland there were so many parodies and alternatives in the manga but in the anime it was two short stories for barely 30 minutes.

I won't mention movies, considering they're most likely a spin-off of something. Besides, it's a movie, not a series.. o-oaTales of Phantasia OVA. 4 episodes. Don't know any 1-episoders..
