Does it have a longer battery life than the regular DS? Seems like I have to charge mine every time I turn it on.

Do you think that theyll make a flash card small enough so that it doesnt stick out of the lite?~They probably will when more support of the system comes along. It's all a waiting game.mushroom, can you show me where I can get one for $120? Thanks!Ranzer, check my previous posts. I don't like repeating myself.

The DS Lite was shut off in the process. Check my other topic about how the recent DS Lites have bricking problems.

when u talk about the size it doesnt have really much different. but the thickness quiet significant. and it's defenately lighter. my bf just got me one yesterday. It feels so different with the original ds. specially the screen. it just so bright. i tried to play the new super mario bros, the pictures comes out so perfect (for me). and yeah, the screens are the same size i think.Warned.

The new unit measures up to 133 mm wide by 73.9 mm tall by 21.5 thick. (that's compared to 148.7 x 84.7 x 28.99 mm in the original.) DS Lite weighs 218g, compared to the 275 g of the original.Warned.

jirachiiisbest, I provided the answer to your question in my original post. I found your questions to be good enough to make it to the popular questions list!KaBoomyDonuts, the DS Lite is smaller by quite a bit. The shape of the DS Lite is the main factor, IMO. You have to actually see it in person to understand just how much the size difference really is.

Rumors are not concrete, but there is some information out there saying they may make a Black DS Lite.Currently, there are only three colors: Polar/Crystal White, Enamel Navy, and Ice Blue.

If you saw this: early when the DS first got released Ninti had a celebrity auction for celebs to buy custom coloured DS systems they where really cool but yeah man i cant wait to get my hand on a nice Glossy black DS although the white one is prety cool too :DBut always if you dont like the colour you can put one of those vinyls on it too make it look really awsome and unique

I really like the new one, but I ask our Nintendo rep about it and she said they weren't sure if it would be a US release... sad.

Merged the "new DS has been announced" topic with the "ask any questions about the DS lite" into one official Nintendo DS Lite topic. Just to make things easier :D

size isnt all that much difference as i saw it, but it does seem smoother and thinner... not by far... its also got a very bright screen (did the walk in the dark test) both of my ds' barely lit compared to the lite... (one broke on top screen) but overall, id gladly sell my ds for a lite ^.^ weight however is noticably lighter and the stylus was better placed (instead of behind the screen its next to where your right hand goes)

I love my DS Lite so far. The only thing that bothers me is the glossy cover of the DS Lite. I wish they had an anodized look like the new Ipod Nano. Less scratches! Maybe they will come out with something like that on the next release. Also, they should offer more colors too.

They're Li-Ion batteries. It depends a lot on how they're treated.Recharge them every chance you get. Li-Ions do not like to be deep-cycled and will wear out faster if you keep waiting till they're low or dead before charging. They'll also wear out faster if they're exposed to high temperatures, such as being left in a hot car on a sunny day.If they're topped up often and kept cool, they should last about the equivalent of 500 full charges before they wear to the point where they need to be replaced.

Agreed. I was used to seeing my friend's original DS, so that's the shape I associated with the device... I actually mistook a few DS Lites for iPods until I saw the kids at work split them open and start messing with the inside. I was baffled for a moment, but my next thought was that the new design was a great improvement. The controls are also more comfortable to me. *shrug*

The new one is so much freaking nicer, I'm totally getting one of these. Personally I think they should ( and could) make it smaller. The only thing preventing this is the Dual Screens, and the dual screen thing really isnt that great, they should just pop out the new game boy now, 1 screen-touch screen. It would be way better and smaller.

The new ds lite is poorly built. The hinge breaks easily. Mine has broken at least 5 times, and then repaired by Nintendo.I've had no problems with the original ds though.
