I have a bias towards Nitendo, I never really played Sega besides Gamegear, but even then I ended up not liking it as much since it took up too many batteries.

As a character and games, I liked Sonic's line of games more; they're faster and more fun and he was just cooler than a plumber. But I think Nintendo wins overall, i mean Genesis had like three buttons on it. And from what I remember of the games I had, a lot of the buttons did the same thing hah. Dreamcast had some really good games, but after that it was just over for Sega. Sorry, I think Nintendo wins.

Although Nintendo focused on Mario and pretty much nothing else, I still think their games were better. Not that Sonic and Sega didn't have good games.

Although Sega was good, I always preferred Nintendo games too sega. I never really got into playing Sonic, so I never really played all that many sega games.

Well I've never had a preference between any of them. Between Sonic and Mario it was still the same idea with a different plot. Go through the level. Where Mario was straightforward (mostly) Sonic had you going all over a level to get to the end. Now as companies are concerned, Sega made mistakes that Nintendo didn't make. (launching the Sega 32x the sega CD then the saturn all really quickly... causing confusion in the market) so the better company is Nintendo. but Sega had slightly better exclusive games.

Tough one... I've both a Sega Genesis and Nintendo Entertainment System; the Sega is in better condition, but it's also newer.I think I'd have to say I like the Nintendo better, because it had some great games(Including Contra, the Super Mario Bros. series, and Duck Hunt[Who could forget that one? :P]). Though, I still like many games for the Sega, like Sonic(1/2/3 & Knuckles), 3D was okay, and a few others, but overall I think Nintendo was better(All the way up until you lose games because the batteries got old or you didn't turn off the console correctly. lol)Between Sonic and Mario; Sonic was better if you liked fast paced games or a little strategy, while Mario was better if you liked games which took a little more patience but still required you to move quickly. I think Sonic is better, myself, because you don't ever really get tired of it(It's like a race and a challenge). Mario, I like a lot, but I find it has gotten a little boring over the years. I'd still play it, but I run through the levels so quickly it's not really that fun anymore. On the other hand, Sonic is still a little challenging(Especially the final bosses), and so provides a bit more entertainment.I'd have to say Nintendo wins with their console and Sonic wins as a series(Though, the more recent ones aren't really in the same category). ^.^
