I actually like the old over-head zelda games more than I liked the 3D ones. Plus, they weren't RPGs due to tecnicalities.Quest 64 was okay...Ogre Battle was fun, I guess.I just remember being very excited when I got my N64 because I loved Nintendo. But, after a while, I got really dissapointed because I loved RPGs. The only game that could have saved it would have been Earthbound 64 (mother 3), but we all know that the GBA ended up with that one :(

Paper Mario and Tactics Ogre 64 definately. Other than Quest 64, I don't really know of any others.

For all you people who picked Zelda for one it's not an RPG and two read the blurb under the topic it clearly states that Zelda doesn't count. But to answer the question I would have to go with Ogre Battle 64. There aren't very many RPG's on the N64 anyway.

I do not know if you could call this a rpg but the Banjo Kazooie series are not bad. Any Rare Ware game is a good RPG in my opinion

well considering i can count how many rpgs for n64 there was on my hands and how many good ones there were on one hand. I'd have to go with Ogre Battle 64. (The music of Quest 64 still gives me nightmares...)

I for one love Paper Mario, it's got most everything you need in a good RPG and the added bonus of all your favorite Mario characters.

I had actually played all the way through Quest 64 when I had gotten it. That game drove me mad. I wandered around for hours sometimes, just trying to figure out what to do next, since the people told you nothing. Half the time, I'd get killed by the insanely hard bosses or random pairs of enemies, due to the fact that you couldn't even buy 'friggin items to heal yourself with. Not to mention the fact that your character was fighting with a stick...And, yeah, the music in that game was just...creepy, and nothing in it made any sense.Anyways, Paper Mario. It's slightly more RPG-ish than OOT, IMO...

i didn't see anyone say "shadowgate 64" or "Bad Fur Day" (although Conker ingame states "now this is what i call a platform game" i consider it an rpg because you become conker, not just experience the game via him.)the Zelda games are nice as well, but i must say that they lean more toward adventure than rpg, yet in popular times adventure and rpg seem similar. when's the last real rpg been released on home console? real rpgs are in 2D, like the SNES rpgs (ALL HAIL SNES or get shot in the face)so my pick would be...well the two zeldas, shadowgate and bad fur day.now gittoot.
