megaman because mario games have crudy story lines megaman does kinda and mario has almost no fighting in it megaman on the other had hastons of it and many abilities/special attacks to keep you addicted

In my experience, the Mario series has more great games (Super Mario Bros. 3, for instance), but also more train crashes (Yoshi's Story). The great tends to outweigh the bad, though. I could name many Mario games that I like better than my favorite Megaman game. About half of my top 10 favorite games of all time contain "Super Mario" in the title.

Mega man is a more developed toon than Mario. Mega man has waaaay more things he can do. I think the story is better too. More action in his games!

Anyone who grew up in the mid to late 80's to the early 90's knows megaman was the actioned packed diffiult beyond belife and easy as cake at times games.I have to say MegaMan becuase capcom got him into arcades, and i've never seen an X-man vs Nintendo arcade unit...though it would be fun...

Actually i think there is no competition between the two characters. They represents completely different approaches to platforming.If i would have to choose from a personal point of view i would say......Sonic!:laugh:Seriously, i prefer Mario, maybe because i am italian tho

Mega Man is popular and has made alot games (no where near as many as Mario), but I never thought that it ever held a light to Mario. So i really wouldnt say that there has ever really been a battle of popularity, theres no competition. Not to say that I dont love Mega Man or that either franchise hasnt had their bad share of games.
