if you want all of that in one rpg i suggest morrowind..... great game i got it for $10 at EB plus later on the expansions for $40, (now $25) and havent been able to stop playing. plus the ability to have unlimited space on the map to add new stuff is great!!!

I reckon a good story line draws you in. An interesting story line with complex characters. the game itself doesnt have to be overly complicated. oh, and good graphics. (im obviously more interested in the aesthetics and substance of the game rather than the gameplay itself)

when they are really easy

easy???easy games are boring games, star ocean at 4D (expert) mode, now THERES a challenge with final boss having 30 million HP and can kill you in 1 hit

The type of rpg games i like would be a game with a really cool plot with and really cool characters. The name of the cool game for me would be chrono trigger.

A good storyline, understandable control/battle system, and of course, the characters have to be at least relatively likeable. There can be puzzles and everything - but I don't want them to be too complicated to where I can't figure out the game without a strategy guide.

I personally love Rpgs, I love the final fantasy series and I love the kingdom hearts series, it gives a storyline that people can look up too and they have something to work to, like leveling up your characters so you can desimate THE FINAL Boss and save the girl of your dreams.

this is why i love final fantasy games. they usually have cool characters, really good plot lines, they're complex, challenging, but most of all they have a lot of hidden stuff and things you don't have to do. half of the time i put into Final Fantasy 9 (my favorite one) was in mini-games, side-quests, and in getting optional ultimate weapons and stuff.

Lol, well its the same with everything though, everything need to be just right. For me, the aesthetics of the game really adds to the game playing experience along with the plot line and difficaulty level. The games now a days on PS2 and Xbox 360 have such amazing graphics, it makes me feel as if it is real. But, however, that is not to say the classics that still have MIDI music and pixel characters are not some of the best games of all time with great plot lines, character and challenges. I don't know, stuff is sooo complex in general, but you can't please everyone.
