How do you make backgrounds? I'm new at photoshop and have no idea how to make backgrounds.Could somebody please give me a link to a tutorial?And finally, I'd like an avatar.Make a 128 x 128 avatar with a phoenix in it. Thanks.

Just check zanzokens tutorial topic.About the avatar You wont be able to use that size.The maximum uploaded size is 100x100.http://good-tutorial...d/1/10/relevantBrowse through the pages for what background tut you want.There is a big selection

For backgrounds: download some grunge, abstract or vector brushes. Brush something, add a colorbalance layer and there your background is. (better to begin with grunge or abstract first, vector is more difficult)
