I have to say in game saving since it's too easy to accidentally overwrite the save state if it's used every few minutes, and if you mess up before you realized you're screwed and if you reset and didn't ingame save you're screwed more. ^_^

Depends on the situation too...If you are dying, and the next step may be death, I use save states. With notmal situations, I prefer the in game.

I use save states on moments before some good dialogue or story development, so that I can view them later.I only use the game's save states for normal gameplay though.

you should do save state cause once i was playing advance wars and i almost finished everything and then my dad accidently deleted my Emulator so lost all the saves and saved state lets you save anytime and its easier and you can transfer it to a disk so it doesnt get deleted

The title says it all.I've been using save states ever since I found out how to use it (which was in my 3rd GBA game). But sometimes, I avoid using it to challenge myself.

Yes, when i quit the game, to restore it just at the moment i've quitted the emulator... ( sometimes i have to go, and there is too much time before i could find a saving point )

I used to Save State all the time, but now, i decided to use only when the game can't be saved(Like, PKMN Mystery Dungeon Red, it says Save Failed, so i State Save it). It makes some parts of the game so easy that takes out part of the fun of the game.
