So i was looking at the topics for all the emulation about not being able to save and stuff so i started to wonder how many people used saved states or in game saves. me in particular i used save states for those quick mistakes i could have made.

i actually use both. Although i do think using save states is somewhat cheating... but i still use both. the ingame is more, lets say, "universal" and actually, safer. however, the save states give the option of multiple events. especially in pokemon (the best example i can come up with) people save in battle, which u can't do with ingame saves.

Save states cause you can load in the time that you want If you lost something in the game and you dont save in the save states you need to restart the game

Save states. If you use in game saving, the file may be corrupted and you would need to replay the whole thing again. But save state won't unless you delete the file

that is a good plus at times, but at other times it's just really cheap. some games it can be really useful though..

saved states are must faster but you should save to so if the state messes up u can continue your game instead of starting all over (1 major disadvantage of the save states if you accidentally press the F1 button etc. you'll have to start from there.

Save states. Faster, and more efficient. Not to mention, most games I've played don't have capacity for up to 9 save locations. I've had a lot of instances I just wanted to replay through Final Fantasy 3 or something, so I throw it on one of the last save states, and can come back whenever I want.

I definetly use save states whenever possible.. of course i also make my own cheats for my gba roms (because my comp is quite slow... so loading FireFox is a nono when i'm playing VBA) but there have been very odd times when i have used in game saves... seems pointless when you've got perfect saves that you can fall back on anytime.btw this is my first post evar! (well, on this forum anyways)

depends on the game, pokemon you can save anywhere anyways.other games im more inclined to use save states due to the fact im over playing or have to stop for a reason, and finding a save point doesnt work out.

The Save State ANd the game saving doesn't get alongBecause ,say you saved a game saving in pokemon with Snorlax capturedand you saved a save state with out capturing snorlax and you loaded a state with non-SnorlaxYou restarted the game and loaded a game saving(that's when it gets bad)You loaded a Game saving with out the snorlax captured. It was so annoying! That's why a use a save state on one game and the game save on another. If it mixed up and you forgot whether is a save state or game saving, you're gonna get doomed.

Being able to save at any point of a game is a great advantage. Save state is specially helpful in pokemon games where you are only allowed 1 save file. Although i feel like cheating i use it anyway because it really helps when you mess your game, its good to have a backup save file.

Save states are much easier and quicker to use. Plus they may help if your save file got corrupted.

Its so much more easy to use Game stats. And some games dont have save in game, before you reaced a check point fx Check point in lvl 4 - 7 - 10 - 12 -15.. Thats only 5 chances for saving your game.. And that sucks....!
