I use a save state if I think I am about to fight a really tough boss, but other than that I use in game saving.Posted Image

I only use save states if I think I'm about to do something really difficult, or if the game won't let me save.

I use both, with save states functioning as a backup. Save states also make it convenient to "cheat" when I play fire emblem where my characters dies too easily and you can't just reload from a previous state. For some games though, I am forced to rely solely on save states because the emulator for my OS platform don't do the job when it comes to battery saves.

i think using save states is cheating, because some games are laid out so you can only save at special points to make it a bit difficultier.however, when you are in a biiiig baaad boss battle or the last save point has been seen 1 hour ago and you have to go to work for example, it is an good thing, then and only then i use save states.

Save states can be confusing and harsh at times, but they provide an easier way to get through the game.

i prefer to choose state saves since you only need to push any function keys to load...and SHIFT + Function Key inroder to save...pretty much convinient to me rather than In-Game Saving which requires quite a bit of time loading...
