It's possible to beat him but it's definately pointless and makes onlythe tiniest differance to the cutscene, so i wouldn't bother trying, cosyou're not really meant to.

it really easy atually u just need patience (i suggest u beat him since you need the exp) all you have to do is reach somethin like lvl 12 in destiny islands (choosing any weapon at the start e.g. sword) and to do so easily keep fight wakka, dont kill him just continuosly hit the blitz ball he throw (it gets u 1 exp every hit) or fight rikku so once your in travers town u can beat him easy.P.s when i left destiny islands i was lvl 21 had 99potions and 99of the item you get when u beat rikku in a race (srry i forgot wat it is) so i have lot of patience (by the way its really borin so i suggest just train to lvl 12 and get some potions and the other item(for selling).

I didn't find him so hard...I beat him on my first time through, but only cuz I was a coward. I deflected his fireballs back it him and then let him have it....I suggest doing air combos since they are quicker and thus you'll stun him with a finisher before he can react....but really, don't just run up to him and try to beat him up or he'll chop you up. Play very defensively and believe me, its not as hard as it looks

I couldnt beat him in my fist game, and now i've started again to remember things of the story. Im just before that point in the game. Is it true that he doenst give you anything for having beaten him? someone told me that he gave u, later in the game, his weapon as if it'd be a keyblade... i supose that's not true, right? Anyway, it'd be great to have that weapon!!

I was able to beat Leon but whatever I got from him was useless anyway (I don't use items until boss battles). A lot od dodging is involved when fighting him. Just keep your distance wait for the opening after he fires his projectile and hit him for one combo before falling back again to repeat.

It is very possible to beat Leon, and you get an item for doing so. The trick to beating him is to time your attacks for the space between his attacks and him jumping back. He is open for the longest amount of time, and he doesn't try to hit you back until after he jumps back. :D I believe you get a protect chain from him.

I beat him from my second game onwards (I died LOTS on the first one). Even in Hard Mode. It's not difficult once you learn how to dodge. Although if you're lucky you can pin him in a corner and just mash X to combo him to death (he has a massive delay whenever you hit him with a combo finisher, so he'll never get a chance to counter-attack). Beating him gives you good EXP, which is why I beat him everytime. And the cutscene afterwards is slightly different. If you lose, Sora falls down and Leon does the "final" blow. If you win, Sora collapses from exhaustion, 'cause he's still a weakling. :)

Here is my guide:Yes it is possible to beat him and i've done it in expert. Now keep your distance cause a couple of GunBlade swings and he'll take you down. So stay a decent distance and once he starts charging his firaga run towards him, jump, and air combo once or twice. twice is dangerous so do once if you patient. Now once your far away repeat. There is a reward to beating him: one you will most likely lv up and two once you are going to leave traverse town Leon gives you an elixir and later in the game elixirs are VALUABLE!!

alright leon is easy to beat if you have a stradegy first of if you were smart and fought a lot of heartless on destiny islands you would have potions stock them if you have vortex equip it when you fight him stay in open space when he shoots the fireball at you hit back at him it almost has the same timing as wakka's ball he'll then be stunned that your time to go in and attack if your daring try atacking if you get low on health heal with a potion be sure to keep an eye on your health keep repeating these steps and you'll beat him i beat him the my first time

I think I beat him around my third try, and he gives some EXP and you can get an elixir if you beat him. You just have to combo him and knock back his fire balls, it's pretty easy.

It is possible to beat him, but he has insanely high HP at this point while you have insanely low stats. Even if you beat him, the cutscene triggers and it shows you having lost...so theres no point...and beating him gives NOTHING at all from what i remember.

I got 3 lvls from him when I beated him o,O
