My vote definitely goes to Street Fighter. Although truly my vote would go to KOF if it were on there...

I prefer Soul Calibur because use weapons to fight unlike in Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. Although, the Fatalities in Mortal Kombat are awesome.

Wow. So many people liking MK this much. There are a lot of problems with this poll. First, SF is 2D, whereas SC is 3D. Totally incomparable, they're ENTIRELY different. MK moved from 2D to 3D, which shows how they're just trying to milk it, which brings me to my next point. While MK and MKII are decently balanced, MK3 and onward are complete BS due to infinites and retarded 100%s. I'd be lying if I said 100%s don't exist in other games, KoFXI comes to mind, but in most games they're balanced. MK's complete lack of any restrictions on them due to its system just means that, while in KoFXI you'd need 5 super bars and need the other character to not Saving Shift out, plus then you've only killed 1/3 of their team (so it's balanced, sort of), one hit can win you a match. That's pretty bad.That said, I prefer 2D fighters that aren't MK, so Street Fighter. IMO, this isn't actually a good idea for a poll, since there are so many games I prefer over all three and none of them are on here (where's Guilty Gear, where's KoF, where's Melty Blood, etc), so a better idea would have been simply asking "what's your favorite fighting game" and leaving it at that.Added: How silly of me, there's a thread for just favorite PS2 fighter right below this one. Heh.

I grew up playing street fighter and MK, and later of course SoulB, SoulC. I say, even though I disagree with half the Street Fighter games put out there, Street Fighter, because of SFA3 and I thought the first Street Fighter EX+ alpha was decent (especially the training mode). Personally, for fighting games, controls are among the most important.

i used to love street fighter the most but recently their games havent been that good, so soul caliber is currently the best IMO

Ok first off MK is NOT "milking it" just because they went from 2D to 3D, what that means is that they can roll with the punches and further their gaming franchise. If anything it's inovative. No other game series has done that. SF is still 2-d, KOF is too, Soul Calibur and Tekken were always 3-D. I can't think of any fighting game that transended the 2-D 3-D barier like MK. There's nothing wrong with the balance of gameplay if you suck then you will get schooled by a 100%. Deal with it by getting better at combos so when they try that sh&t you can thump em.Wow. Street FighterI prefer Mortal Kombat. I just like to attack people and Kill them afterward. That's just me.My friend prefers Soul Calibur. He says he likes the G-Cube version with Link.

I always liked Fatal Fury more then any, but if I had to pick from those 3, I would go with Soul Calibur.

Mortal Kombat. You actually get to kill your opponent through fatalities, death traps or just pound them to death. Plush Soul Calibur contains too many cheap characters

swords ppl swords. in mortal kombat the projectile weapons are garbage. and in street fighter they have none. but soul calibur definitely qualifies
