The wireless controller is ok...just not that good when it runs on batteries since they don't last long.

Its more expensive than a regular controller. I didn't like that you need batteries for it and the back is fat.

for the purpose of htis post, we'll take the standard sireless controller by nintendo and the standard controller that you get with the actual gamecube.Wireless controller Pros: No cordslonger distance for strech (I once played the game from upstairs as my gamecube is downstairs. Obviously didn't work very well, but I was checking how far it would go)cons: conrolls are a tad more sensitive (for me at least) so when I'm playing stuff like nascar games where you ahve to be very careful, you can spin out easier.no rumbleneeds batteries (witch with only one wireless controller and about 7 people who play the GC they run out fast here)normal controller:pros: rumble.controls are a bit tighter (I like this)bit less bulky (the bulk isn't really a problem for the wireless, so I didn't put it on cons there)cons: wires. (worth at least 3 con points)winner: pointwise, tie. personally, I like the normal one for the rumble feature.

I think it's definitely worth it. Mine works great. I tested it and it goes through solid walls up to 50 feet away. I can tell pretty easily when the battery is getting low(the light dims), so I don't see that as a problem. The cordlessness is very nice. The only downside that I see is that you can sometimes accidentally change the channel on it, which is annoying, but overall a good buy.

Wireless tends to make some weird movements (like you're not pressing anything and the character is moving left for some odd reason). I didn't like that but on the other hand, it's good if you're very far away from the TV and the console.

The thing I like about wireless controllers in general is that if people walk in front of the TV while you're playing, there's no risk of them pulling the controller out of the socket or even ripping the gamecube from the shelf in the middle of an important part. Also, my couch is to far away from the TV for the regular controllers to reach so I have to bring the GC out into the floor a bit and that gets annoying.

My controllers were duds... The start button broke on both mine and my brother's controllers within a month. If they do not break so soon though, they are useful.

I've noticed with my wavebirds that sometimes the signal starts getting messed up, and I have to turn it off then back on to get it to work properly. But all in all, I've been pretty satisfied with them as far as durability and usability goes. They could have used a smarter channel select thing. Why have 16 different channels when there are only four controller slots.

The 16 channels is basicly to avoid interference from one another in case u play a 4 player game and u use 4 wavebirds at once, it's true that we can just assign no1 for p1, no2 for p2, etc but sometimes the signal would interrupt each other if the channel they choose is close to one another therefore putting your friends channel to a bigger number would be wise, so like no1 for p1 then we put no 3 or no4 or even no5 for p2 then no9 for p3 etc. It's a brilliant design IMHO, besides if there's a hardcore GC players out there that want to play 8 players using 2 GCs, 2 Mario Kart discs and 8 wavebirds XD the amount of channel provided is definitely acceptable.I never use the pelican one and never intended to, I have a blast with wavebird and i think if u could get a chance to grab one for cheap price is definitely worth it especially if u are planning to buy wii and still playing your GC game on it, would you like to see a wire goes thru the top of your Wii ? XD or u would rather just pop one of that little sucker (receiver) on it and play it without seeing those horrible wire XD ?Rumble is not included since it would suck the battery in like well perhaps one hour or faster than that :) , I can live without rumble feature in my game since sometimes it would affect my gameplay anyway, except if they put it for a cutscene or something, but think about when u r trying to drive a vehicle and the enemies start firing at u and the rumble start going, u can lose your grip (well i do since i'm weak) and in the end make your vehicle hard to control.I dun have any grudge with the wire one tho', I own four of them and I will use the wire one when playing with my friends, since the silliness of the wire and rumble feature is what makes playing with your friend well a silly experience and fun :o.

I would have said wireless a while ago, but my Pelican wireless controller has been nothing but trouble. I constantly have to use the neutral position reset so my character doesn't run off without me, and the control is just horrible and twitchy. It makes it so hard to aim my clawshot and bow in Twilight Princess. I'm just gonna sell it and buy a wired nintendo controller when I can.

It depends on the game for me. Most games it's perfectly fine. The single exception to this is SSBM. The speed and ferocity that my friends and I play it at requires the cube to respond asap. It is only through playing this game that I have found the slight amount of extra time between when you hit the button and when the cube thinks you hit the button. Granted, this is only a problem for me and my friends, where being a few milliseconds late is the difference between life and death. For everything else, by all means, get the wireless controller, it's nice.

I've tried my friend's, and I think the pros outweigh the cons, even though there's no force feedback, at least you won't have to put up with tangled controllers anymore.

The only downside (to me) that the wavebird has is that it doesn't support rumble. Other than that, it's a good choice to buy it if you need another controller for a friend or a sibling. If someone offered me a wavebird for my normal controller I would take the trade anyday.

I prefer normal GC controller since wavebird lacks the rumble-effect XD
