yeah !! having as much as 400 + pokemon is not cool !!!it would be really difficult to complete the pokedex...they should just upgrade the story...graphics...and other stuff instead of making a new set of pokemons !

They make so many because they can only sell the ones they have for so long before they become stale and stop selling so well. So, when sales look to be sagging, they release a bunch of new Pokemon, and hordes of kids and kidadults shell out the money to buy them and make Nintendo a big bunch of money.

I think they've sorta been running low on ideas. I don't like anything above gold/silver.Plus the style of the new ones is just weird. Rhypherior? Come on.I understand the need to keep it new, but 493 is just too much.I'm not saying I know how to do it without doing that, but still, in my opinion, there's too many.That may just be me growing up with the original talking, though.

While I think the Pokemon featured in the first generation of Pokemon games, I don't think adding new Pokemon is bad. In fact... it brings something new and exciting to the series.

Despite the fact that there is quite alot, I'd say they ran out of ideas around Ruby/Saphire. Some of the ones in Pearl/Diamond are great, but thats about it.

Probably to make people interested in the new ones in attempt to make them catch pokemons in games....It just makes it harder to catch them all though...Pokemon is so boring, I have no clue why I kept playing new versions...

They added more pokemon so that you have different types, Like the ghost-electric Rotom, or the water-dragon Dialoga. this gives better advantages to players who are fighting other players.
