The reason they do this is so that the people will not get bored of pokemon. But I think that there is enough pokemon in the game now...Theres 500 of them I think. So most likely future pokemon games will either introduce new areas, features, or just a new kind of story.

i think there are too many. there are so many little children out there that spend literally all their time memorizing the names and types and attacks of various pokemon. they could spend their whole lives doing it and still not succeed, because Nintendo keeps making more.

Yeahh it's impossible (for me) to remember all of em... dunno.. it makes the game very complex.. with infinite possibilities of your team.. and opponent's team..it's challenging in terms of balance, but makes all the elementary grade boys out there out of their mind (and their study.. including mee..^^

I totally agree. It was all fine up to Crystal, for the GBC, but then it got a little weird. I didn't really want to relearn all the Pokemon, so I stopped with Gold and Silver.

pokemon.. ugh. soo sick of hearing about pokemon. everywhere i turn it's pokemon this, pokemon that. it's insane. personally, i hate the game. the shows are bad enough.. like come on. adults playing this stuff? you might as well watch barney and friends on tv as well if you're that desperate for entertainment of the electronic variety. no offense.

lol there 2 to many pokemon indeed and diamond and pearl r mostly evolved froms of kanto, and funny thing my bro said the same thing yesterday he said there were so many pokemon he lost count after 150 lolz

Thing is with Pokemon, the gameplay improves so much with each game, they have to have new ones. I'm not defending them, I hate the new pokemon just as much as anyone else. But it'd be pretty lame if you were training the same damn pidgey, butterfree, pikachu etc. with each game. The difference is that there's a lot more to do and a lot of new features in the newer games, which makes the overall experience more fun, especially for the new younger generation who pokemon is now targeted at, as opposed to us old-school gamers who got Red and Blue when they first came out. I still loved Sapphire, but it's certainly gotten out of control, particularly with the newest generation. It kind of gets a bad rap, because it actually is a good game... it's just the 
show and the lack of creativity in the actual monsters or storyline most of the time that makes pokemon the joke it is now.

I dnt really mind the number of them,I just wish the diamond and pearl opened up the older towns of the game to catch the pokemon specific to those games at the times, like gold + silver went back, instead of that wierd mini game after.
