The series should die down sooner or later at a point, the Pokemon designs are getting worser each time but the storyline around the legendary pokemon just keep getting better which is what keeps me playing..

i would agree with you there, there are waaay too many pokemon, it seems like they're just looking at random stuff and making a pokemon out of it. OOooh look! a twig! let's make a pokemon that looks like it and we can call it twigster or something lol it just seems like they're not even trying anymore

it's just about economics. when there's demand, there is supply. that's wat makes money isnt it?just make things simpler abit. it's easier to make money outta someth dat ppl alrdy play den to start a whole new thing. that's why they just keep going on and on

The designs have definitely been getting gradually worse. Although, the newest season has some pretty cool Pokemon, with a similar style to the originals. I really like Turtwig/Grotle/Torterra (<- my new favorite). But either way, the more they introduce, the more variety players have. And trust me, eventually, they'll have a game, possibly MMO, where all four continents are available. And then, you'll be thankful that they have so many iterations of the series.

I always used to watch the origanal series of Pokemon with Ash, Misty and Brock. Then when they started bringing out the new series with the different Pokemon, I never went back to it. It just lost its allure. I have Pokemon Yellow, which I almost finished. Then I lost it for ages and started again when I found it. I had Gold and Silver but I lost gold and since then, the only other Pokemon game I bought was Pokemon Colluseum, which I stopped playing very quickly. I think they ruined it by adding another couple of hundred Pokemon. But, then again, if they hadn't, we would probably be having a discussion that they should add more pokemon

As long as they are young stupid youngsters to impress with the frachise it will always live on. I like pokemon but I REEEEEEAALLY think they could do soo much more with the game, every game feels and basically looks the same as the previous, I think it'd be a great idea if they used a diff fighting engine, like golden sun, or at least make it look more realistic like in the cartoons, sheesh they must have more creativity than what they are throwing at the fans

Just because one person doesn't like Pokemon, it doesn't mean the series should end on his/her account. There are many people who enjoy it, and for as long as there are people enjoying it, Pokemon will live on.

I don't see whats so bad about it, I still play the handheld games, however the more generations they make, the more the pokemon designs get stupider every time. Ever see the pokemon Bidoof?

I used to like pokemon too. In fact the ones on GB and GBC are so cool i love them. But its getting boring with the new ones.. (but i stillenjoy the replay value of those old ones)Or... maybe im just getting old

well i'd call it biodiversity. it would be like if there is a one-is-to-one correspondence with all known species known to man. Like a gazillion insect pokemon and fish pokemon and plant pokemon. =P

I think there won't be any more new pokemon. The last ones in 4th gen DP are almost like the "final reach". I mean, Glameow/Purugly? Ideas are going down, so i think that's where the new pokemon end. 493 (exact number) is the tops. Maybe they'll add at most 20 new super-legendaries or something, but that's all. I believe this because the last pokemon is supposedly the god of pokemon: Arceus. If there were to be more, they'd hafta be equal or greater than "god". So they might possibly have a few more new ones.Overall I still like the franchise, but the amount of pokemon has hit borderline for me.
