GRR! I just don't understand! Why is pokemon getting more popular than Digimon?I say, when Digimon gets to the next season, only several Digimon are new (includng the starters). Most are repeats.Digimon is waaaaaay easier to memorize than Pokemon.POKEMON SERIES ARE JUST RETARDED!

i think the good reasons is because they dont want pokemon fans bore with pokemon series so they create new pokemon beside the old one,..anyway i like finding new pokemon on different series,..

I suppose its because they need to milk it for as long as possible and they can't do that if they can't keep it going with new pokemon. I got into the franchise late so by that time it was way too many pokemon for me to be interested in knowing them all.

I loved the origanal 151 and the Gold/Silver batch wasn't bad either, but now it is just pointless to keep adding 150 pokemon every 5 years.

One word: Business. They're doing it to keep the franchise fresh, reel in some new players and keep the old. I personally don't mind because i think its interesting to see how they keep something that really has been around for so long popular. But i do agree that anything more than 385 (which i'm sure it now is) is a little ridiculous. I'd be more interested to see a remake with a longer story or playline than one with 500 pokemon or whatever. I mean they managed to fit in two regions in Crystal! Two! why don't they make another version with more than one region or more things like Pokemon Contests... or both! Whilst i understand their reasons for creating more pokemon, i don't like that they've sacrificed so many other possibilities for the sake of more pokemon :/

yea; i remember the good old days when u could actually catch all 150 of the pokemon; now theres loads that i reckon a small child (who is the target audience) would not be able to remember the names and abilities of all of them; whereas with 150 you would be able toah; memories

it is a bit retarded. i gave up pokemon after gold/silver too. I think there are 493 pokemon now, but most of them suck

Same here, I knew all 150 and could probably list them off right here. It's just died out, and yet they keep trying. Like many other fads/card games.

I think its vital to keep a lot of pokemon in the game, keep a large variaty and the game interesting.(Plus The new super smash bros needs some new pokemon for the pokeballs!)

Well... the producers would not want to look a gift horse in the mouth, considering the success of the originals. So, they milked the cash cow. Understandable, really.

i knew all of the first 150bulbasaur...ivysaur...venasaur...charmander...charmeleon...... etc. etc.then i never really liked gold/silverruby/sapphire i knew a fair few, but only in japanese (so basically, i knew nothing about it that i could talk to people/friends about)and diamond/pearl takes the limit too far
