It's probably because people get bored of the same pokemon, so they make more and more.Pokemon is actually a very good selling game, and many game companies havetried to duplicate the games and effects, but not many have been as successful. The Pokemon company keeps trying to get the attention of people, thus the advance/improved versions. They try to make the graphics, gameplay, controls, and sounds vary so it's more funfor pokemon fans and people who are new to it.I think it's safe to say that even if you and a bunch of people stop being pokemon fans,it wouldn't bother the Pokemon company too much, since they have millions, maybe evenbillions of player out there... somewhere... ^_^---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- :odd: <_< <<< OMG this guy is just too cute!~

i remember the classics:yellow, blue, and red. Missingo, ash, prof oak, giving the water bottle to the guard to get into one city.that was fun and because of the missingo glitch, awesome. then silver and crystal, gold. more evolved slightly cooler looking pokemon, like umbreon, and the chance to go back to blue/red/yellow.it was actually simpler and possible to catch every pokemon.and then they came out with 400 pokemon, i think to make a different story and add longer replay value, or to increase action replay production <_<.i still love the classics.

I agree that Crystal was the best, not only in the sense that you could go back to Kanto, but also in the sense that it was the first pokemon game to show the pokemon actually moving their body parts, but the flaw was that they didn't show them moving while in battle, just only when the opposition was sent out. Another thing they put in Crystal that they didn't put in Gold and Silver was that when you move into another route or city, it showed which city/route it was on the top-right corner (or maybe it was top-left, I don't remember the more specific specifics)

I like the first 150 pokemon; they were original and had potential. Most of them only appeared a few times though. They really went overboard with the new pokemon and their names.

You are quite correct, sir. I think that theyhave made quite enough that will last the rest of their years. There is already too much, and if they made any more, the gameplay would be more like everyday chores, or a 9-to-5 job. Of course, I'm sure many people out there would like to make their own, custom Pokemon, as some people on YouTube have shown. Long ago, my brother even made up his own as well. But, their ideas will have to be forever kept in their minds, for there are more than enough Pokemon today. Thank you.

They make a lot because they like stressing out their artists and they want us to get confused about their many Pokemon so that we may accidentally buy a second copy of their games.Acutally, I don't know. I guess it's a marketing strategy. But it sure works on little ten year olds. "Mommy, I want this new Pokemon game, it has a million new Pokemon! Dialga, Palkia, Turtwig, Chimchar, Staryly Bidoof . . ."The mother will be so exasperated she would have to buy the darn game.

I'm just like that, I knew everything about the pokemon from the first series. Then they released some more and I couldn't really be bothered to learn those new ones too. Not long after they released even more pokemon... it was around that time I stopped watching the show.

I think Pokemon needs something new to it- the Touch Screen was more of a DS thing than a Pokemon one, and it's used little in D+P. They should make some kind of new battle system, perhaps more like a beat-'em-up than the traditional turn-based system.

Yeah well, probably kids now don't really use the older Pokémon (#1-150) I think, so that could be a reason why they keep on inventing new ones..But it's true, it's getting sick!

The monoteny of random battles makes me angry sometimes, but its a fun game.I prefer the original generation, it had the best story and gameplay imo.

Don't you see, they're lengthening the games. they're making it take longer to "catch them all" thus taking months to complete the game.

i agree i think there are too many now i understand that they only do it to keep the games different but they should put more effort into the stories and stop making up pokemon its getting impossible to get you head around them

Aren't there something like 500 of them now? Anyway, I don't mind that they keep making new ones. It keeps it interesting and forces you to stay on your toes. ^_^ It would get boring if tehy stayed with just 150 all the time. Games that last are ones that keep evolving and changing.

I tend to get bored of the ones they have, and making new ones is something they've always done, it adds new elements to the game. We wouldn't want the same old game with the only difference being the graphics now would we?
