I wanted to play it when it first came out, but I never wound up doing it. I actually forgot all about the game until now.

Try looking on google, i still see people playing it at anime conventions down in NYC. I think there is a small fan base of the game.

Holy crap, people still play this?I remember this was all the rage when I was in 6th grade... six years ago. Then, as I remember, all of those guys moved on to Magic.

I realy do wish they made a new Pokemon TCG for the DS or even the PSP. With the thousand new cards out, it would be a great game.

I always wondered why they never made another one of these games. I thought it was amazing. And cheaper...almost like playing the actual card game minus the cost of thousands of cards....

YES they did make Pokemon TCG2 in japanese (I have the rom =] )The bad guys are there GR gang people.Lol im stuck halfway through the game cuz i cant read japanese (you'd be laughing now)

Not exactly. You have to be aware that TGC game on gameboy is not a subsitute for real TGC. TGC game on gameboy features a story with an objective and sidequests. Using cards is just one of the features of the game. Playing with real cards don't give you the same sort of fun and has also many drawbacks: only duel modes (no story), cost of the cards (expensive), lack of opponents in general...

I bought Pokémon TCG for the GBC back when it was new, and I played it on and off for years until I lost my cart. It really was a fun game to play, the actual TCG was boring for the most part, and finding people to play with was often a challenge, so I never really got into it. As to making a new TCG game on DS or PSP, it's highly unlikely, due to the recent obsession with Yu-Gi-Oh, which I personally feel is the worst thing that has ever been spawned from... anything... but point is that people who play Yu-Gi-Oh for the most part wouldn't accept a new Pokémon game, and thus it wouldn't sell well in America, so even if it was released, seeing a copy here stateside is a long shot.

Pokemon is the best, seriously the combinations in cards are much better than Magic, or Yugi-oh

... Pokemon trading card game. In all honesty, even when I was a kid and obsessed with pokemon, I never really saw the attraction in this. The video games are pretty fun, but the trading card game was just a childish attempt at some form of collectors item. I collected the cards because I was stupid, but even then I never really got into the actual gameplay.

ya that game is hard i dont get how to play it

Well maybe I can help.First choose a deck. Squirtle, Charmander, or Bulbasuarthen the prof will guide you through how to play. Then you should go to the grass club if you chose Charmander or Bulbasuar.Ocasionally you should check your email to see if he sent you a card pack.if you beat a leader go to the lab and find a card machineif you have the cards required you can make a new deck.ummmmm....... i hope that helped a bit. :DThat post was from a LONG time ago. He might not even check this topic anymore.

I first played this game on ROM, loved it then bought it for Ł10. I was playing it still late last year before I got my DS.It's a simpler game to play than Yu-Gi-Oh! because it has fewer card types, but because it doesn't have trap or magic cards it lacks the deep strategy element of Yu-Gi-Oh! and can often be a case of luck as to whether you win or lose. Saying that though it's a great game to play, with a simple play system and a lot of options as to how you want to create your deck/s. Some battles can be really hectic; one I played lasted through until we were both out of cards. I ran out first and I was one hit away from winning! Talk about heated! The best thing about the Pokemon TCG for GBC though is that you have just a small map to navigate around and only a few places to keep an eye on - unlike the recent Pokemon games where you need to be awake at 4.00am on a Sunday in order to have a 1 in 300 chance of catching Pokemon number 300-and-whatever, or something. Annoys the hell out of me!It really does need an update with the inclusion of all the current cards and all the limited edition cards. I was sure that a few years ago I heard about an update for the GBA, but that could have just been my imagination (or Pokemon for the GBA). Shame :(If anyone here's seen or played (or tried to play at least) the Digimon TCG for the Wonderswan Color then you'd know how good games like these can look. If they made an update for the DS then they could have the same formula as the Digimon TCG with the console being held vertically and the card being shown in the full panel of the display screen - it would look beautiful! Then (if Nintendo weren't such money grabbers }_{!) they could allow card downloads at shops, events and such.

This game was really fun for gb. It was actually better than paying 8 bucks for a 7 card pack way worth more. This game is like the 3rd bestest game for gameboy :(.

It's the cards that make the game and a game that includes all the new types of cards and decks would be pretty good. Yeah, I know about the 2nd TCG but couldn't play it as I can't speak Japanese. I think that I may have had a copy that had been translated but it was also unplayable. There's enough fresh content and ideas for this franchise to be worth something. I'd say that a Wi-Fi enabled DS version with a larger world map and options would be good fun, especially if you could play online with your friend and use the microphone to talk to each other - it would be the DS equivalent of a game of poker with the guys/girls.I've no idea why Nintendo have chosen to abandon the Pokemon TCG video games though. With all the Yu-Gi-Oh! games that came out for the GBA you would have thought that Nintendo would have realised that they had their own card game that they could be pedalling.
