My older brother got a Genesis emulator with a Dragonball Z rom (still in Japanese). He never really played it, but I was in a DBZ phase back then, so I was hooked.

My friend was playing ROMs first, and I just ended up playing too. From then on I've been hooked.

It was a couple of summers ago and my friend came over and got me FFIV-FFVI for an emulator and I was so excited I tried to play them all at once. It didn't work out very well.

I heard about Bleem through advertising, so I tried it and it was nice to play psx games on the PC. A few days later my brother told me that there are Gameboy and SNES emulators too. First I couldn't imagine how they could work because I thought you have to connect the cartridges to the PC, until I heard of rom images. That was many years ago. Today i know a lot more about emulation :P

My story is really funny. I did not know they even exsisted until I was searching my assignments on my schools directory and found a file named emulators. The funny thing is there was a ton of them taking up about 560 MB of space.

I still remember it like it was just yesterday. I was in fourth grade, they year pokemon red and blue first came out (and also the year i was introduced to the internet); and I was talking to my friend during recess when he tells me you can play Pokemon on your computer. POKEMON ON YOUR COMPUTER! I had Blue version for the gameboy but even so this computer concept intrigued me. So I followed his links to the Pokemon ROMS and went on a magical journey. Ha, I still remember that my first emulator was the No$gmb, and the first site I would haunt was CheeseROMS (now defunct I think). From Gameboy to NES to SNES to GBA to SEGA to MAME. I will never forget that fateful day.

When I had only the Dreamcast and there were no great games to play I resorted to the emulation.

My first emulator was NESticle, back when it was the best emulator for NES. It ran in Windows 98, but it was actually a DOS program, so you could only use DOS joysticks or your keyboard. I don't remember my first games for it, but they were probably the first Batman and first Ninja Gaiden titles--those are two of the greatest NES games, and I beat them both on the NES itself, back before savestates or even emulation were invented. I know, I'm dating myself as an old man. :D

I believe I was trying to find out the name of an older game I'd remembered, so I went on a search to try and find out what exactly it was called and where I could get a copy of it. Stumbled across a site dedicated to emulation and that's that.

Hmmm. saw dudes at school playing old school games on the computers in the library during priv. and asked one of my buddies about it and he showed me it, but i didnt feel like giving him 10$ for an emu and a handful of roms... so i searched around myself and downloaded Gens and Sonic 3 & Knuckles as my first one... *sniff* brings back memories...*sniff sniff* (sonic 3 is fave because it was the first one you could actually SAVE!!!)

The internet is how i got into emulation my first game was sonic and knuckles. From there i started playing world series 98. Then i found tecmo superbowl roms on the net for nes. I began making me tecmosuperbowl rom library; starting 98 to 2001. At first i thought sonic and knuckle was a freeware game from how i downloaded and install and played without an emulator. It was actual a emulator and the game built up in one engine. i should stop jabbering. i have never talked this much

Saw an article WAY WAY, WAY WAY back in one of my dad's old magazines...Mentioned emulators, sort of, not really mentioned they were half-way illegal.had a picture of sonic in a go-kart.Didn't follow up until about 6 years later at the age of 13 when I needed to play Contra:Hard Corps, really, really, REALLY bad.Saw an article WAY WAY, WAY WAY back in one of my dad's old magazines...Mentioned emulators, sort of, not really mentioned they were half-way illegal.had a picture of sonic in a go-kart.Didn't follow up until about 6 years later at the age of 13 when I needed to play Contra:Hard Corps, really, really, REALLY bad.
