I got into emulation from my uncle. I went to his house over the summer and showed me his (awesome) computer and his folder with over 14 GB of Emulation/Roms. You wouldn't believe how ashtonished and excited I was. First thing I did when I got home? :)

I first heard of it in one of the Gamepro magazines a couple of years ago. But what really got me hooked to try my hand on it was seeing one of my friends' computer with a ZNES emulator & lots of ROMS for it. The rest is history. :D Today I have the emulators ZNES, VisualBoy Advance, Nestopia & Kega Fusion with a good assortment of ROMS for each one.

I got into emulation when I saw my friend in my dorm playing FF1 and 2 on his PC. He has Linux and I was confused how he was doing it. I started getting emulators and roms later that night.

I wanted to play some classic games, which I favor more than current gen, and I lost my old consoles in a unfortunate diet coke and mentos accident.(long story, dont ask.) So, I did some research online, started playing my games again!

I went over to a friend's house and I was downright shocked to see him playing Pokemon Red on the computer. Apparently he didn't know much about emulators back then either because when I asked him where he got it and what other games he can get, he said that he got it from a friend of his and that only Pokemon games can be played on the PC.We were 7-8 in case you're wondering about our intelligence :D

Couple of years ago (5, 6) when I wanted to relive the old NES days. Couldn't find a REAL NES anywhere so I checked the internet, trying to buy that old stuff online, but I found some ROM sites and such instead. Can you even imagine the look on my face when I was able to play Zelda on the PC? hah hah :)

Since I did not have my NES anymore and I still wanted to play NES games I started looking for them...I guess my first emulator was NESticle and my first game Dragon Warrior 4. Since I never had a SNES and there were still games that I wanted to play I started searching for them...and then I downloaded Snes9x...

Well on this RPG Maker forum, this one guy said that he had this thing that let you play super nintendo games, and I looked at it and figured out how to use it and that's how I got into it.

Well,I heard about it from a really awesome fan site for the Seiken Densetsu series. There were emulators and ROM's on the site alongside detailed instructions on how to use them. With it laid out that clearly before me, what excuse did I have not to try? I soon did and now I'm hooked.Cheers, treeofmana
