It depends on the game. If the music sucks or gets annoying, I turn it off.

depends if i like the music. in the zelda games i always play with it on!!! but other ones...not so much. :|

I usually play with the sound on otherwise I get bored too fast. Not a very good reason but that's just the way I am.

Yeah, off for me. Same reason said before. Battery power. I notice I seem to get about 70% more battery life never turning up the sound. If I can jack in my adapter to a wall outlet I might turn up the noise. Depends on the game. Usually the sounds are too repetitive, or painful, such as some of the voice acting I see. Only one I know I always keep the sound up on is Riveria. Just to hear the finisher move battlecries, some of the only decent voices I've heard on the GBA."My resolve shall prevail!"

i turn off the sound while playing the games 'cause the sounds eat up my ears and they are way too kid-oriented annyoying. But I admit that some games have some cool soundtracks I like to listen by putting the speaker close to my ear!!! Cool poll, though!

I prefer the sound on because it kind of helps me figure out what to do, somehow. I also like to hear the familiar tunes, especially in the Mario games.

like sound most the time, except a few exceptions.1) Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. DAMN is that game got annoying music. IT's a crap game all round really2) If I'm listening to my music.

I always listen to the music :(My friend and I used to play pokemon while we talked on the phone, and we could tell exactly what town the other was in just by the music
