If i had to pick i would say ff 9 is the best rpg on the ps1.

You know what sucks? How FF7 has become the most overrated game ever.It's truly a wonder, with the great character development, music, and gameplay, but the fans have ruined it so badly that liking it makes you a fanboy immediately.So I sadly say that I love FF7, but I fear saying that in public for being scorned.Anyhow, on that list, though, I like FFIX most.

Because that would mean it gets all the votes. Like I said, there are too many rabid fanboys that haven't even TOUCHED FFVII. They just love it because they think Cloud is cool, and Sephiroth is bada$$.

I like the fact that this doesn't list FFVII as one of the options 
. I chose xenogears mostly because I liked so many on that list but I remember xenogears had an innovative fighting system where as most had the same type of fighting system

Definitly Final Fantasy VII, it was awesome. It revolutionized RPG gaming and RPGs still use Final Fantasy VII's creative and well done ideas such as ATB and EXP as well as awesome looking summons.

For me, it's gotta be Xenogears. It had an amazing story (although damn near impossible to figure out before the 3rd time beating the game), a sweet battle system, good soundtrack, and except for Disc 2, i'd say the game was superb in every way. I just wish they'd remake it...Xenosaga doesn't even come close to how good Xenogears was.

Grandia is still one of the most memorable ones for me.right behind it on my list are Star Ocean 2 and Final fantasy VII

the best would have to be.. any of the final fantasys in pst - 7 8 n 9. and for 2nd place i think... any other square enix/squaresoft rpg would come up.

alll of them are great rpg-s....even tough ffVII isn't there.....Actually I have two choices out of the RPG's listed in this poll. Some of you may be supprised but oh well, if you want an explanation just say so in your reply! My two favorites are Xenogears and Parasite Eve. Awesome games...
