Definitely Final Fantasy 7They should remake it with better graphics for ps2 or ps3 =)

I would have to say it's a tie between Final Fantasy VII and The Legend of Dragoon. Both made by the same company...but completely different.The addition system on LoD was unique and awesome...and the Final Fantasy VII storyline was breathtaking.

It would be a choice between Final Fantasy 7, or Grandia. FF7 has better graphics and more sidequests, but both have great plots, characters, and music. Breath of Fire 3 was also really good, and lasts for quite a while considering it's only 1 disc, but I didn't think it was as good as FF7 and Grandia, although lots of people I've spoken to think otherwise.

Final Fantasy 9. Kuja was so awesome! Best villian ever created!Also its just an overall good game. Great graphics, sound, gameplay, and characters.

I have heard very, very good things about Star Ocean: The Second Story, and have been searching for it in vain the last two or three years. Of the Playstation RPGs I have played, I enjoyed Dragon Quest VII most of all, I think. I must say Legend of Dragoon impressed me a lot more than I thought it would, since it had some interesting gameplay elements. And I also have a soft spot for Beyond the Beyond, even though it was absolutely terrible in almost every sense of the word with a horrendously high encounter rate.

Yes, the PS1 was Square's opportunity to Shine in their games. And Mostly all their Games on the PS1 stood out!FF Series just kicked donkey. (Especially FFT) NO doubt, they were the games of our time.Good ol PS1. Best gaming system for RPG's.

Well there were many great RPG's on the PSX, Legend of Mana, Suikoden, Xenogears, Final Fantasy 7 and 9 (not the 8 ...whatever:(), Final Fantasy Tactics (well it was Strategy-RPG, but whatever) and Alundra ,actcion-RPG, as well like Vagrant Story so i will vote for them in ranking style.FF7XenogearsFFTLegend of ManaVagrant StorySuikodenFF9Alundra

Legend of Legaia is one of the best PS1 game. It is a role-playing game and i'm sure you're going to be addicted to it.

You can try suikoden 2, I don't know why but it's better than any FF series in PS except for its poor graphic. For tactical turn based strategy RPG, you can try tactics Ogre and Brigandine, both of them are hell a lot better than FFT for its strategy. Of Course FFT win the storyline cathegory

I think the best RPG for PS1 is Chrono Cross.But its story is so hard too understand(Because I don't play Chrono Trigger before).

Any Final Fantasy for the PSX is good. Lunar was a great game. I believe the first Grandia was for PSX, that was really good. Pretty much any RPG by Square is good. I haven't ever played one I didn't like. Except Drakengard... But that was for PS2 anyway.[ryan]
