I bought the latest Budokai Tencahi and though some aspects were better it had lost a lot of the style o the older ones. I enjoyed the Tekken style of fighting that the fit three had and the button mashing moves but now its all gone...your views?

well i haven't played tenkaichi, but i say they were getting better, budokai 2 was better than the first and 3 was better than both! but i here tenkaichi's control changed, and the view is third person, no In game transformation, well but still while people hate ite there are people who like this game... so i don't know, maybe i'll get this game sometime, but i lost some money, buying god of war couple of days ago...

This budokai is good to me, I like how they have more characters like roshi & the other 4 members of the ginyu force. If you think about it the battle feilds are in the same style as sagas.

The first and second ones had good fighting platform with regards to skill executions. Tenkaichi's manual flying is awesome but it takes away the free will to execute different skills. It makes the game too easy in a way. If they can combine the skills execution system from budokai 1/2 with tenkaichi's flying and graphic effects, the game would be awesome. Of course, having to buy a new game just to battle with the same characters gets old after a while, which is what's happening to the dbz series.

Graphics-wise they have been getting better... but as far as gameplay goes, they're going down the drain.

hell they are getting better. The fighting system of Budokai 2 and 3 was too much a simped-down verions of tekken, now we have something a litle more DBZ -esque...it was also far more fun fighting in large arenas an actually being able to control where you flew rather than just sidestepping around a small arena...I actually didn't mind the seperate transformations thing...but they have to do someting to make each transformation it's proper level of strength...SS4 Gogeta couldn't bat around USSJ Trunks or Bojack...(WTF)After seeing Shin Budokai for PSP, I think that the Buodkai 3 fighting system would go better on the handheld, while the Tenkiachi style combat would go nicely on the PS2/3.No, the Budokai system is getting beter and better...(the worst one in the series was the first)...at last now we don't have to do those blasted P->K<-P combos to do spirit bomb or something...

I got into the Budokai series with the third installment. I thought the graphics and gameplay were great, but I couldn't stand Tenkaichi. I hope the two series continue to develop on their own terms, after all, didn't Tenkaichi have a different developer? I'm pretty sure that is the case. This might mean that each respective team will have more time to develop their own style of game play, while taking turns releasing the games. In other words, this year might see the release of Budokai 4, while next year sees Tenkaichi 2 and so on for years and years until the end of the world.

I think that 3 was the best executed one; it kept the basic fighting system the same but added and removed a few things to keep it fairly fresh.Tenkaichi was a little disappointing, just because it took away the cool cinematic feel that the other three had. I love the quasi free roam levels, though; it really makes it feel a little more like the series.

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees. I think that budokai tenkaichi was good because of the 3D gameplay but, lacked descent moves, building your character, graphics, and the way you couldn't transform ( you had to pick the transformed character ). I think they should of stuck to the original 2D stuff.

I cleared tenkaichi and i say that isn't better than budokai 3 because it was lacking in building charather, upgrading moves and the worthest thing that you can't transform i give it 6/10 though i cleared it in three days
