Tekken 5 for hand to hand combat.Soul Calibur 3 for weapons.and any of the Mortal Kombat games b/c of the blood and gore. however...2d fighting games will always have a place in my heart.

Any of the old Street fighter collections, Soul Calibur, Guilty Gear, Marvel Vs Capcom , KOF. All great games. Oh and the new DBz fighting games are great.

Hands down favorite fighting game would be Guilty Gear X2. But I'm currently playing DBZ Tenkaichi 2 just because I've had the urge to fire an energy ball into a fat alien's face for sometime now.

Capcom vs SNK 2 and Street Fighter 3 third strike. I love fighting games, but all the others I found were a little too unbalanced.

Tekken 5 is one of the best but as you all said, even a complete newbie to the game can beat a Pro by just clicking one button continuously.

Guilty Gear all the way !!!This game features so much gameplay mechanics in both attack and defense (general gampleay) as well as a lot of diversity in each character gameplay. In varies from a classic shotokan to a player who "zones" by filling the sreen with pool balls and not letting his opponont move, to one woh fights with his beast/shadow, the player manipulating both at the same time. Each character really has his way of thinking, philosophy to play with. It is the only fighting games that made me think this.Guilty Gear is a really unique game, featuring great graphics and music if you like hard rock, but its style and profusion of moves/graphics effects does'nt appeal on everybody, thinking the game is "too much".

i would say tekken four mainly for the characters and the awsome gameplay.
