downloaded it over the last 2 dayshavn't gotten a chance to REALY play it much yet.So far is feels just like morocrack, exept prety and smoother (in the sence that the game mechanics work better)The one thing I am not to happy about is that I much prefer the old inventory system, the new one kinda sucks. The new lockpicking system is amusing, but it realy just gives you more ways to break the game (a novice can easily undo a hard lock, assuming they are good at twitch based game play). If it is as good as the first, I willl be going out and buying my self a copy very shortly

I was downloading it when i went out to buy it......i half expected every place to be sold out, but i got a copy on day one, and i've been pretty addicted to it since. The graphics can be seriously amazing, only problem is im not sure if there is a single video card out there right now that could actually handle all the settings maxed out.And yeah, the inventory system got console-ified. I liked the older interface better, but its really a very good interface, if i was playing it on the 360 it would probably be an amazing interface. Gameplay can be a bit silly sometimes, too... because the radiant AI is wacky. (Once i was on a quest, and i had to find someone, blah blah, and before i could get to the person, some redgaurd guy stole something from her, and caused a huge commotion. it was very interesting.)And the ragdoll phsyiscs just plain rock - they arent silly ragdoll like older games have been, everything beds proper... oooh so much fun... i think im off to play it now.

LOL! Downloaded it via Bittorrent, but my Videocard has 32 megs, and I get around the 1 frame/sec. Back to the XBox 360 which runs it great!

I REALLY want to try it. I have a pretty good pc, but not a great video card, I'll have to see if it can handle it. But since I don't have a 360, it's my only option if I want to play it. And considering how awesome morrowind was, I do.

I got mine from a friend yesterday, even with my crappy PC it still runs well enough to play, which I am very surprised. Is anyone else surprised at the lack of protection Bethesda placed with this game? No CD Key, nothing........ I will have to buy the store bought game however, just because I have a rule where if I REALLY like the game then I will pay for it so I can give the company what it deserves. But still......no CD keys? online validation? Bethesda is too trustworthy I think

I bought it the other day. I drove all the way home before i realized it was a DVD rom, and my gaming computer doesnt have a dvd drive. So, i ripped the image on my other computer using Alcohol 120%, burned that image across 5 cds, and then loaded that onto my game machine. Lo and behold, it works. I was really taken aback that Bethesda had absolutely no CD protection whatsoever. I guess they figure theres going to be a way around the protection, no matter what, so they saved themselves some time, money, and hassle by ignoring that step all together. All in all, im really impressed by the job they did, its exactly what im looking for.

u need high system requirements to run oblivion though =\

That's the only downside to the game, and it's poor support for lower end cards (i.e. GeForce FX cards and other non-Shader Model 2 cards).

Hardly the only downside. There are MANY places where you walk pace-pace, CRASH (computer reboots). This game would rate as the most bugged game of 2006, so far. After all that time in making it, I'd have waited another 6 months to not have these bugs.(And my system vastly sxceeds the rec. system: Amd X2 4800, 2G ram, 7800GT video, Audigy 4 sound...)I've given up on Oblivion. I actually got so pissed off with it I threw the dvd away, but I retrieved it from the bin, broke it into 4 quarters and posted it back to Bethesda.

It looks pretty cool. I'm thinking about giving it a shot. My roommate has it and he seems to like it.
