I liked the N64 better for a number of reasons. I thought the controller was better, especially since when I bought it the PS1 didn't even have analog controls. I'm a big fan of the Nintendo franchises, and a lot of them were all-time greats on the N64 such as Mario, Zelda, Starfox, and 1080. Last but certainly not least, the four controller ports was great for party gaming.

Ok so in my opinion i like PS better but i think thats only because i had one...for a REALLY long time...till my mom threw it out...no no i'm not bitter...haha The Games were awesome! the only flaw was the lack of multiplayer games and the fact that you couldn't have more than 2 controllers without adding the extention...and that more money and blah blah...i liked that the N64 had 4 hook ups already.

I would say Playstation since it has the final fantasy games on it. Although n64 has some better graphics, but the games are lame.

I have always been a Nintendo fan. I'm not saying that Playstation sucks, I'm saying that I prefer Nintendo 64.

The original playstation really placed Sony on the video game map. This made the playstation 2 a bigger hit and today we have the PS3.

i'm all about the playstation... mostly because of squaresoft but they also did have a few good sports games also... o and the controler for n64 did kinda blow...98% of the teenage population will try, does or has tried smoking pot. If you're one of the 2% who hasn't, copy & paste this into your signature.

Nintendo 64 evokes some mixed emotions. It wasn't a flop by any means (it sold somewhere in the range of 30 million consoles worldwide), and it had some great games (Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye and a few others). But at the same time, it was disappointing for me. It could never really deliver what it had promised (with all that "Ultra64!" hype). Most graphics were incredibly blurry, thanks to the unit's little RAM, and those annoying Tri-Linear Mip Map Interpolation (or something). Ugh. Opting for the cartridge format caused many developers, most notably Square, to abandon Nintendo and develop for Sony instead. Suddenly, 3rd party support was pretty minimal. Such a difference from the NES/SNES days; going from great third party software to mere quality first party software. Gamecube had similar problems as well. Let's hope the Wii can turn the tide.It really signified a changing of the guard. That console generation definitely was won by Sony.

n64. while playstation had the ff series and the final good version of road rash, n64 blew it away with games that were truly 3D.
