as much as i hate sony. id have to say playstation, mostly cos of the controller. it had some good games on it.

Story-bound? The n64 does have any games that have stories anywhere close to ff6-7, tactics, dragon warrior VII, Personas, Shin Megami Tensei, etc. The truth is the n64 was based upon little or no story than anything, to keep the kids buying. There's only one mature storyline on the 64.nintendo still make better story-bound games, just like anime compared with cartoons... more to come with wiin64. I mean, common....zelda, mariokart, paper mario, SSB, DK...yeah FF7 & FF8 are cool but i just don't think they were good enough to make the whole system that cool

N64! It was my 3rd console, after ATARI and Megadrive.One of the best ones I had.

While the N64 was a very good console, and had some incredible games, such as Super Mario 64, Super Smash Bros., Shadows of the Empire, Goldeneye 007... Etc..Playstation had better graphics, more features, and many more exclusive and amazing games.

I never liked N64 very much, overpriced, under developed games. The PSX had a great lineup (and a few N stolen companies)

I have 007: The World is Not Enough for N64 and I must say that it is far better than its Playstation counterpart. Truth be told, i never knew the Nintendo 64 was on par with the PS, or PS2, even! Well, maybe not that far, but still! Before, I thought Nintendo 64 was like SEGA or something, with really old, 1980's games. With color and stuff, of course, but I thought it had really old games, like platform Mario! Now that I realize it was on par with Sony's consoles, I'm simply amazed! Although, I did have the PS a while back, and I must say that the share of games I played for it were pretty dang good! All in all, I'd have to say PS, since it lets you hear music and stuff, too, and also a bit because it uses CDs instead of cartridges, which are less bulky. But, let's put it like this: if someone were to offer me a PS or an N64, I'd take both!

i personally don't see how the ps1 could even compete w/ the N64 but i guess i'm just biased

I am torn between the two consoles...The N64 has (generally) faster loading-time, and more exciting multiplayer functions. On the other hand, the controller stick got stodgy after a year of intense Zelda 
, Goldeneye and Mariokart. This was easy to replace, but then they were never made again 
.And also, the cartridges stopped working every time and had to be repeatedly taken out and put back in.The PS(1) Has longer loading time, which really bugs me sometimes. But it's controller is well made and hasn't worn out after years of use. And although I'm not a fan of PS games, I got absolutely addicted to Tony Hawks and Budakai for a while there.Also, the N64's rumblepak is large and cumbersome and requires batteries, whereas the PS's is built-in.I'm torn... :DCan someone help me decide by giving me some more arguments about both?

I'd choose PS...just cuz I haven't bought a new Nintendo system since the SNES, lol...and ever since then I've stuck to the PlayStation...but I might just have to get this DS Lite coming out!

I think PS1 is one of the worst consoles ever, it just doesn't appeal to me at all. Obviously it has something I missed, because it sold loads, but apart from Final fantasy, Wipeout, and Castlevania SOTN there wasn't much else that I liked. N64 on the other hand is my favourite consoles ever, with tons of games that I still play today.

Guy this is a difficult question :'( well playstation have the best rpgs ever but N64 has various good Mario games it's difficult to say... well a tie :dirol:

I always liked my PS1 more than the N64, but that isn't to say the N64 wasn't awesome as well. Mario 64, OoT, Majora's Mask, Mario Kart 64, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, etc etc etc. The PS1 had more good games...but the good ones that the N64 did have are 'best of all time' level.

playstation had some good games like spyro, but the nintendo 64 gives a hard pound!
