I only use walkthroughs when I've been in a place more than 20 minutes and stuck there. There's no point in a game when you use the walkthrough throughout the game.

I usually try to do things on my own until I get to a point that I feel like I'm missing something. Or on my second+ playthru's, so I can get everything I can out of the game.

i use walkthroughs the second time through a game, when i know that it'll take a long time if i try and remember what to do at a certain part of a game... or i get frustrated and bored of a place that i've stayed in for half an hour

Generally... I'll use walkthroughs for extra things only, like finding all the heart containers in Zelda or all the dalmation puppies in KH.

Yeah. I sometimes feel I missed something while playing a particular game so I have to go through a walkthrough to see. Plus I use walkthroughs if I have a game that has a different language.

I have never used a walkthrough in my entire life, but I would make an exception in Myst games because those are pretty hard.

i use them for parts of games that i just cant get past. but sometimes, when i use one for that purpose, i get addicted to knowing exactly what to do next and i start using it more than i should...

Only when I really need to. Like when I need to solve a puzzle I know I cant get the answer to, or movement Puzzles (Twilight Princess statues) Or I need to find something in a level (Sonic CD, those machines in the past.) or I can't find out what to do next (Hotel Dusk) like who to talk to or where to go and the game doesnt tell me. Only and those cases. And when I'm done with the part, I dont use them until their needed again.

the thing with walkthroughs is that you have to actually try beating the part your stuck on. Don't just go 'oh I am stuck time for walkthrough' really try to figure it out and if after a few hours of trying you still can't do it then read the walkthrough but only read what you need. If you just open a fresh game and a walkthrough to beat it that is considered cheating in my books

I use walkthroughs for hard places, if I can't find a way anywhere or if I beat the game once and try to replay it "the real way" (getting all boni etc.)

The only times I've used walkthroughs were really in puzzles (such as Legend of Zelda games) and games with impossible secrets and ways to progress through the game (such as finding the Spike Breaker, Beryl Circlet, and various enemy item drops in Symphony of the Night).

Only for Zelda or Final Fantasy games. I don't mind using them when I need to. A game stops being fun if you can't figure out how to proceed with the storyline.
