I'm proud to say i haven't broken one, but i don't think you need to abuse a controller or console when you lose or get mad lol.

I still have the controller that came with my system (I bought it almost 4 years ago), but it's not in that great of shape right now. The wear and tear from all the playing these years has taken it's toll on it. At one point, it started to do things by itself ("press" buttons without me doing anything). I actually took it apart one day and tried to figure out what was wrong, but I couldn't find anything. However, I had the rumble mechanisms hanging while examining it and the wire that connected the rumble to the circuit board came off. At that point, I thought I really did break it, but it turns out the controller started working again after it was disconnected. Strange, but it worked. Only problem now is that I don't have rumble and the left analog stick occasionally doesn't function perfectly when I want to go back (i.e. in KH II, when I hold back the left analog stick, Sora only walks, doesn't run).PS1 controllers, however, are a different story. Two Sony ones stopped working after a while and I'm pretty sure my Mad Catz controller is dead by now. It was starting to get glitchy when I replaced my PS1 with my PS2 and I haven't touched the controller for years.

I've half broken 2 of them. Both of them have the same problem...the analog sticks broke and don't move properly. They click back in to the opposite direction every time I try to move them.

One. One of the buttons doesn't work anymore, and since it's the most used button the controller is basically useless.

None. My friends criticize me because of the extreme care that I take of my controllers.

Lets See, I have gone through 9 PS2 controllers...17 PS1 controllers and the worst are Gamecube controllers. I can't tell you how many of those I have broken. (those damb A buttons and the analog stick keeps on breaking) Also many many more others from past systems. I never broke my turbografx 16 controllers.

I haven't broken any yet, because I don't have any money to buy new ones. XPI have a friend who's broken about 5 of them by throwing them across the room when she looses, though. We were trying to play Silent Hill 3 at her house and we couldn't change the camera angle because her only working one was slightly mangled.

3 ps2 controlllers, and I didn't break my ps1 controller, but it stopped working the other day.I also choose to blame the aforementioned occurrences on frustrating camera angles.

Erm, actually the controllers were pretty durable. That's why I have 4 working controllers. The console, on the other hand broke every year, like clockwork. 2 controllers when i bought the first console, 1 for the second, 1 for the third. Sony wanted almost as much from me to repair the thing, and the shipping costs added on made it more expensive then buying a new console. I never recommend the PS2 to anyone, even though I'd like it if it wasn't for it constantly breaking in the same exact way every time.
