Breath of Fire III is a fairly nostalgic one for me; and on hindsight, I've yet to PLAY Breath of Fire IV. I picked up the Japanese version, due mainly to the differences I've heard existing between the English and the Japanese renditions. And now, thanks to your reminders, this 'Not-Playing-BoFIV' oversight will be rectified immediately.

Definitely Breath of Fire III, even without ending it. What was Capcom thinking when they came up with Dragon Quarter?

Both 3 and 4, I like 3's Dragon forms and I like 4's new battle system.

There is no worse enemy. His passion for
death doesn't just border on insanity, it
wallows in it.

Breath of Fire 3but 4 was pretty good too, especially since I kept hearing it stunk. However, for the non PSX breath of fire games, definatly 2. I could never get into the first one much.

IV. The Dragon attacks just won me over hands down. (Eraser)But elbowing a monster twice doesn't seem that threatening.

 There seems to be a lot of BoF 3's anf 4's...Personally though, I prefer Breath of Fire 2 for the SNES. Here's why: - Well written storyline (well, almost. ) - By far has the best Nina design (long dress and cute black wings :o ) - Shaman fusion capability (transformed characters look pretty good. The shamans themselves are pretty hot) - Simple, yet impressive magic spells (overdone spells piss me off for some reason) - VERY LONG gametime (some people may not like this but... so what?) - Katt (nuff said)

BOF 3, well lots of things there. I like the desert puzzle (really I MEAN IT  ) and also the story when ryu still young. WHen they grow up well it's still good but not as good as the young one.

For the PS I would go with 3, it was a fun game, but for BoF in general i'd have to go with the first one, the original was the best

I've played breath of Fire IV and Dragon Quarter. BoF IV is one of my all time favourite playstation games! 4 also had a good battle system and I liked the storyline.
