looking at sm64 for ds, it looks better than on 64, and i believe the ds has more optimized pipelines for gfx.

Yeah NDS defininetly doesnt have better grahpics than n64. NDS is more comparable to PS1 or Sega Saturn.... but not 64

i think what the DS lacks in ability it makes up for with short cuts.. the N64 By far out powers the DS but the fact the the DS is running with newer OS, just look at PC games, get a decent computer running win 5.1 and play a game, have the same computer play the same game with XP and u tell me that the OS dosnt make a difrence...

Thats the funny thing the DS is capable of displaying higher rez graphics than the N64! it's about 1 N64 and a half.

After playing hours and hours of mario kart 64 (both ds and n64), I found out ds is way better.

DS has better graphics than n64 i think. partially because of the small screen though. I'm pretty sure it does textures worse.

SM 64 and MK 64 were both brought out before the N64 addon thingy was introduced. The DS is limited by it's screen's pixels in a way that te N64 wasn't (ofc it wasn't unlimited, just much better respectivly). If you look at some of the later stuff like conker's bad fur day and Banjo Kazooie 2 the graphics are much improved over the older games. The DS probably has a bit more in it yet.. but I wouldn't expect much improvement in general graphics from it.N64 = 10 year old ConsoleNDS = 1 year old hand-heldmeh

for SM64 the graphics were much worse, if you look at marios skin hes sooooo PASTY, but on the ds hes got a normal skin-like complection (is tht how u spell it?). but i know what you mean because conkers bad fur day and banjo kazooie 2 were much better graphics than the n64's previous games

I haven't really looked into the specs side-by-side but in general I find that the DS's graphics are more more aesthetically pleasing. I suppose there are certain techniques that the DS can do better than the 64 and vice versa but like I said, overall I find the DS's graphics to be a little better.I will say though that while Mario 64 on the DS has better looking character models and such (much much better actually) it looks a lot more pixelated compared to Mario 64 on the N64.
