i think that the nds 's graphics are better than n64 thanks to the high resolution of nds's screens.

i think the DS has better graphics.. only the games (exept final fantasy..) are so low on the graphics part..thats where the N64 scores...

How could the N64 have better graphics than the DS? I haven't even played a DS before, but I'd sure hope it would have better graphics. If not, then that's just sad.

n64 was a lot better than NDS for FPS or shooter graphics....I didn't play a lot of N64 games but i remember GoldenEye was awesome at the time.... Nothing on DS rivals that yet. Metroid Prime is nice but the detail is lacking especially small objects at a great distance are hard to see and the movement is not as smooth. Also same w/ racing games... Other than Mario Kart DS which rocks. But its hard to see what's going on in a fast racing game on DS. hard to see the road very far ahead; kinda blurry. ie: Need for Speed Carbon City.DS is still the most fun handheld to own tho

Because of the small screen, it looks like DS has better graphics

Maybe but screen is smaller than N64. If NDS use TV to display, I guess graphics is worse.

the n64 had more emphasis on its 3d graphics while many nds games are purely 2d or 2/3d, or just side scrollers

I think the NDS and the N64 are very similar, in fact if you think about it; GBC = NES; GBA = SNES; NDS = N64;I think the biggest difference is the dual and touch screen capabilities.Kinda makes me wonder if the next portable Nintendo console will be equivalent to an NGC.

i have played both super mario 64 and super mario 64ds. in the 64 version mario's head is almost square, asin the ds version it might not be perfectly shaped it is better than the old version's graphics.

Think of it like this:- The GB had NES graphics- The GBA had SNES graphics- The DS has N64 graphics but isn't better than the N64; however, the DS games can hold more data than the N64 carts so it makes up for the graphics power.

This pretty much sums it up.Also, I'd say it depends on a game-to-game basis. Some N64 games (particularly the later ones) are better than anything the DS can do. Some DS games are better than anything the N64 could do.
