I agree with T.C, if there wasn't a good storyline, whats the point in rp-ing? We emulate other people in a different world that has a conflict, we play to resolve the conflict. Depending how serious the conflict is, how the characters deal with it, what the setting is, etc, gets me hooked on the game.

If i was able to choose more than one...I'd say all!!!

i agree with itachi...because a good game needs a combination of most of the things listed above, not just the storyline. but i also hav to agree with the fact that the storyline is what makes the game most interesting.....

for me it would be storyline, graphics and music... in that order! good graphics and music add to the emotion of the storyline...

I think those are all important (well, maybe not sounds quite as much :s) but gameplay would have to be the number one thing that keeps me playing an RPG. Or any game, really.

I like the storyline in the RPG. If the storyline is interesting, I will play the game and replay it again. If the storyline is not interesting, I will play it and never play it again.

Suikoden series is a good recommendation if you can find all 108 characters w/o outside help then you rock

it's the storyline. If the storyline in a RPG sucks, then who would play it?

gameplay is really what makes the game. i can easily let a horribly mediocre story slip by if the game is still fun to play. i mean look at Super Smash Brothers! that didnt even HAVE a storyline! just some giant hand you had to beat the crap out of!

All of the above a key factors of any great RPGs. Preferably, I'd choose a game with all of the above. However, if I had to choose one of the factors, I would select gameplay as it is the most important aspect in any game.

As long as the game has a good story line, pretty easy to grasp concepts regarding the controls, and challenging bosses, it's a set-game for me to play. As long as it doesn't have girls with skimpy outfits and exposed breasts or an ecchi look then that makes it better.
