I would have to say that the best final boss in an RPG is the dragon from golden sun: lost ages. Simply because of the siginifigance of who it represents. I mean having to fight your own parents for the final boss is hard, even though that boss wasn't hard to beat.

Kefka (Final Fantasy VI) - One of the single best fights ever. Period. The amount of forms you had to go through to finally fight the man himself, along with "Dancing Mad", made for one of the best boss fights ever, and the best in the Final Fantasy series. Sephiroth is a close second, but he still can't topple Kefka.Meta-God (Shadow Hearts) - Quite possibly one of the most nerve-wracking and difficult boss fights I've ever gone through. Hard hitting attacks that also inflict status conditions, high HP and defense, and immediately gets to dispel any buffs you put up. Just....good God....Wiegraf (Final Battle, FF Tactics) - This battle is notable just for how dang difficult it is. I was honestly close to tearing my hair out at this....

True enough. Lavos copies the powers of all the bosses you've beaten before, but for hardcore gamers, beat him on the inside only.I like Chronon Triggers Final boss Lavos there plenty of better bosses that i like in the middle of the games the final boss is normally this over customized huge dude that laughs alot.

Kefka he is the greatest I mean hes an easy boss to beat I did it no problem X gem = 19998 ultima each round added with 7k bumrush easy pickens. Oh and ontop of that You can cast quick on everyone that just makes it Maaaaajor easy 2x hit with everyone

Probably the Kefka fight from your list, I beat EB a *long* time ago and don't remember the ending. Is there a full translation of Romancing Saga 3 ROM kicking around anywhere I tried to find one a while back and couldn't find an english ROMThere's quite alot of rpgs out there and alot of final bosses. What do you think is the bestMy vote would probally be Earthbound's , there's still none like it.Honorable mentions1.Dragon Warrior-maybe the only game to have you fight whats in the title.2.Kefka-Multi tier who still presented something of a challenge(unlike a certain other final boss
)3.Romancing Saga 3- if you haven't played it, go get the rom and pick Sara as your main character.

I beat sephiroth in 2 or 3 rounds. i thought he was a bit of a pushover.he's cool, but not the best final boss in an rpg.necron from FF9.. i liked, he may do it for me.Or the final boss from Legend of Dragoon, but its been so long the name is lost on me.haha, yu yevon from ffx, he was hardcore probably necron.

The boss at the end of the legend of dragoon because that thing was powerful you really needed a good battle stratagy to beat that boss.

I always hated that dang robot thing in the end of "Wonder Boy in Monster World". It just made me angry if i forgot to buy a full heal potion ;.;

I'm gonna have to agree with Kefka. I've never played Dragon Warrior, but will say that DragonQuest 8 has one of my favorite bosses, probably because it takes so long to get to the end of the game, you just feel good, but my Favorite boss of all time, is still going to have to be Ganon from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.There's quite alot of rpgs out there and alot of final bosses.
