Man, all these people saying Sephiroth...Cool guy, but he got owned, just like every FF end boss after FFIV. I think that's why Square added optional bosses, so the general public could see the Ending of the game...Kefka, Seph, Ultimecia, Kuja, and especially Jecht were all cake...For the difficulty, Chaos from the original NES Final Fantasy was one of the hardest bosses ever. You'd plug away at him, (With very little MP to use) and he'd throw out a Cure 4 like it was nothing. Very difficult battle that one was, I almost wrecked my NES while fighting him.Zeromus from FFIV was also really difficult, good times though....Old school RPGs had the most difficult bosses....You didn't have all these customizations you could do to your character, which ultimately makes things easier than they should be....But yes, in short, big props to Chaos. He was the original owner of asses in the FF series.

IMO... Orochi from "The King Of Fighters: Kyo"!!!Hes much easier in The king of fighters '97....!!!

Has to be Sephiroth. Sure, he wasn't the hardest to beat but easily had the best last boss music ever.

I have to say that the final boss of FF8 was pretty hard, it had like 4 different forms that you had to fight

how is it you say rpg and everyone thinks final fantasy... man, Lavos from trigger, or even ghaleon from Lunar were uber awesome, and the final boss from Lunar 2 pissed me off like no other.

Sephiroth is the hardest boss but other than him....the weapons from the PSone series are much harder.

I think mine will be the final boss of Suikoden 1 .The boss is a three headed dragon with golden scales and it is veri diffcult to fight....

If Yuber was the final boss in Suikoden 3 then it would be him. He owns 100% all of your arses. The Eightfold rune was deadly and his so-high-its-from-amsterdam attack and repel stats meaned he could rip you to pieces even without it. Too bad that he wasn't final boss. (Damn you Sarah and True Wind Rune)

For me was the sub-final boss in yhe game Star Ocean for PSX...wow, man, if I remember well, was two guys with mostruos magic powers and them defences are so great...I go up to my characters to a level more than 134 to beat them....ufff.

Kefka, hands down.Ones worth note - Xenogears end-fight - I won't say who or what because of major spoilersFF9 - This final fight actually SUCKED HARDCORE but it's worth note because it was so freakin RANDOM. YOu kill the last boss and out of nowhere you're fighting some mutant alien of emotion that was never even talked about ? lol

Kefka is tempting to pick, however I'm instead going to say the last boss of Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. I've actually yet to see his ingame incarnation, I got stuck earlier -_-, however I'm willing to give him the benifit of the doubt simply for being one of my favorite literary characters.
