i heard a few rumors of it for PSP but not for DS, it would be awesome if it came out for DS but the memory required for it would be enourmous for a DS cartridge and not to mention playstation would probly have a hissyfit about it being released to nintendo.

First off Advent Children was not a farewell to someone that said it was. Which is why they are making a FF Crisis Core fo the PSP which is what happened before FF7. And before it would go to DS it would be PSP most likely. And my opinion on this whole matter is that it should not be done and many true FF fans will agree with me. FF7 was a classic game. But they have ruined it by making 50 million games about and a movie. They've pretty much ruined it and FF7 should be left in it's original glory.

Hasn't FF 7 already been announced for the PSP? I remember seeing a Preview on GameSpot about it. FF: Crisis Core? Pardon me if I am incorrect.

Crisis Core is a prequel to FFVII iirc.Aside from that, don't get me wrong, FFVII is listed as my favorite game of all time but I don't think it would do well on the DS. If any parts of the game were missing I would think that it'd ruin the experience. If anything I would expect additional features, not less.

The issue about porting FFVII, or remaking it in general, would be getting lucky enough to pass it through the rating system again and still label it T. I mean, Wall Market. How did that get through? But, if they remake it, I want it for PS3, or the graphical equivalent.

I think they should port it to DS. It's one of the best games in the world.

it would be a good idea for them to transfer it... cause DS owners would definetly buy it, making it worth... though it would prolly require more than 1 cartrigde, and an extra memory cartrigde still it would be worth it... i mean i would buy it wouldn't you?

I doubt they would put Final Fantasy 7 on the DS. The expense of doing it would probaly be huge and the profit would be not vey good.

If all you guys love FF7 so much then don't you still have the original PS1 game and can still play it on your PS2? Why would you need it ported to the DS? Isn't it better to play it on a nice big TV with nice sound than on a tiny DS screen?Stevo

Even if there was a way to port it to DS via the cartridge... I don't think it would do as well. While, yes the DS is just about as powerful if not a bit more than the PSone, because of the smaller screens and the touch screen it just doesn't come across as a good idea as a port. I mean think about it. With FF4 and 3 they both have the SAME touch screen functions.. basically. You CAN use it but it's not really necessary. For a game to be ported to the DS I'd rather it be made FOR the dual screens. I'd rather it be ported to the PSP. if they port it to a handheld at all, since it has better graphics, more storage on the UMDs, and a bigger screen. I love the DS, don't get me wrong but porting a game to the DS usually doesn't do as well because they have to try to find a reason to utilize the touch screen. I like FF3 and 4 in their own respects and I think they did well in upgrading and porting them to the DS however, I feel the touchscreen functions just basically...well, failed. Not that there was much they could have done for it anyway; it IS a port. I'm just saying if they're going to remake FF7... it better not be on a handheld. I'd rather it for a console that SE could use their full potential on and putting it on a handheld period, let alone the DS, would seriously stunt their options.I think they should put like a mini chocobo raising/racing sim based on the FF7 mini-games on the DS. That would be fun and much better suited for the DS. Like a Golden Saucer DS game. THAT would be cool.

I don't think they would have it playable with nintend as FF has always seemed to be exclusive to PS and PC . If they were going to do this I think they would have gone for PSP .

As nice as it would be for them to release a slightly visually updated FF7, it just ain't going to happen. I'd love it, but the odds of them actually doing it are astronomical.
