i think it possible if the memory in the ds had more space but the auido and the CG wouldnt look as good if they were on psp

If they redid the cinemas or compressed them or removed them entirely, there would be no trouble fitting it on a DS card.

You know, I don't think it should ever get ported somehow. I guess it was just great on the PS (save that the AVALANCHE team was always irritating), and if anything, it would probably go to the PSP, and not the DS.

I doubt the game will be converted as it's one hell of a big game. And seeing as it was on PS1 before, there's a much bigger chance that it will pop-up on the PSP.

FF7 is a really good game Maybe alot of people would play it if it came out on DS but it would be to hard to remake the game wit better graphics

I'd absolutley love to see FF7 on the DS, but it could never happen. Sony has the exclusive rights to every FF game after 6, so Nintendo would have to buy the rights to the game from them.

Your calculations are screwed. Metroid Prime Hunters, had you looked on this site, is 47 MB. Now the largest DS cart may be 512 megabits, NOT megabytes. Nintendo carts have always been measured in megabits, which is approximately 1/8th of a megabyte. Nevertheless, FFVII may be able to fit on a DS card, considering the heavy reduction in size due to lower resolution and sound quality. Even so it might still be a little too large. Anyway, I don't care whether it fits or not. I would rather development teams didn;t waste time on 10 yera old ports and devoted their time to making games that can't be ebayed for $10.I'm no expert but with all of this down sampling and re-encoding I would think you can easily cut down the size of the game to 1/4 the size. That would be only 650MB. Right now I think the latest Metroid game on the DS is about 512MB. So in my mind this sounds very much feasible.

It would be awesome but I don't think it could happen. The point is they're porting the game that doesn't came out outside of japan mainly. And FF7 came out worldwide.For the ones saying that the DS doesn't have better graphics than the old ps1... since when didn't you play FF7 on PSone? The FF3 remake graphics for DS are WAY better than the FF7 ones... I'll love to see FF7 in FF3 DS style!!!

If they can make a 4 gig gba flash card i'm sure they could make a 2 gig ds card plus the vids would take up alot less space cause of the small screen size and as you know FF7 movies take up like 60 to 70 the space so i'm sure cart size would be a problem

Yeah it would be cool. Not sure it's going to happen though they'd probably ship it to the PSP, although after FF 7 Advent Children they said they were going to make a whole lot more FF 7 stuff so who knows.

i think the real question rather than "should it be ported to the ds?" is "CAN it be ported to the ds?" i mean sure they ported resident evil, which is a ps1 game. While FF7 is a ps1, it has 3 different discs. i mean i dont think that the ds cartrigde can handle 3 discs worth unless they have three different cartridges but i dont think that would happen because it would just be weird.
