I think ff7 should be ported and re-made for the ds. With all of these rpgs for ds I could see it happening.

It could to be ported to the DS. A DS card holds more memory than ps1 disk. Plus ff7 was only on threre disk because cut scenes. Now days cut scenes can be compresed. FF10 is on one disk and has more data and cutscenes. So the could put on the DS.But it probably won't come out DS, because recent rumors say that FF7 remake will be out for the ps3 in 2007.

ffx is one disk because is is on a dvd.... and dvd can hold much more than one cd. ALso they prolly wont come out woth ff7 for ds but it cant hurt to hope.

No. Too many cutbacks would have to be made. No way of getting the FMV to work and it's one of my all time favourite games, leave my memories alone

lol i think it's better to leave ff7 as it is alone =Xwe might end up having a xeno saga 1&2 version of ds look alike :(if those who have the rom and ps2 version u will know =)

Okay, first of all, FFVII could be done on the DS.There exists much better video compression than there was back in 1997. If you re-did FFVII today on the PSX, chances are it would be on one disc, possibly two.The DS's screen resolution is smaller than the PSXs, therefore the videos would be further smaller. The pre-rendered backgrounds woulc also be lower quality because you're looking at them on a much smaller screen and the quality doesn't need to be as high as on a TV.The music resolution would be cut in half, thanks to the small speakers of the DS and there being no need for high-quality samples.The 3D in the game is nothing for the DS to worry about. The DS is a sliver more powerful than an N64 (yes, more powerful than a PSX because of it. Do your homework on that one if you think either system is more powerful than the DS). Nothing FFVII does would be any trouble at all for the DS.Will it happen? Hopefully not. I think by this point in time, a re-make would be more suited for the series. None of the current systems should do it, though. I think if Square is going to do it, they're waiting until Nintendo's next handheld is released to do it. The game's not even 10 years old yet. FFIII, on the other hand, is well over 15, and deserving of the remake it's getting.Wait until people start to forget about FFVII. That's when they'll remake it.

ff8 would make a better port , they already turned ff7 into a movie (which kicked donkey btw) and a game on teh psp i doubt theyd remake ff7 but hopefully ff8

I don't think they'll port FF7 to the DS. They probably won't port any other FFs to the DS due to the typical "remakes don't make $$" issue.FF3 worked because it was never released outside of Japan (...or was it just never released in Europe? ...U.S.?)Point being - that is probably why they felt it was worth making for the Nintendo DS. It's almost like a "new game."

This rumor has been going around for a bit. I really don't know if we'll see it on DS or PSP. Some think the PSP would be the better choice, but I don't know if it's battery life would work very well. I think the DS has about as good of chance getting a port. But I don't think we will see one, hopefully I'm wrong about not seeing one though.

Isn't there a FF7 prequel coming out for the PSP that takes place before FF7 and after the Japanese cell phone game?
