Mine was pokemon red I believe, I was coming back Christmas day from my vacation in puerto rico and my mom surprised me at the airport with the game and a gameboy pocket

The first one I played was Red. I played while driving with my friend and her parents after swearing I'd never play the series, but I was so bored. I borrowed the game and beat it in a night. The first one I owned myself was Yellow.

Woah. This brought back alot of memories...Sitting in my bed... struggling to get past that Team Rocket casino basement on the Old Original Gamboy playing Pokemon Blue... Now I remember why I learnt how to swear at a younger age...

mine is pokemon Red also and that time it was in jappanese... at first it was hard coz i cant read jappanese!!! but now its gone...

Pokemon Red. Even to this day, I find it to be the best one of the series, just nice, simple gameplay and nothing too over the top.

I played both blue and red. Haven't touched any since Silver, but I do go back and restart blue at least once every year.
